Maze's Mumblings

The Victory will defend against the 3-T

Before I get into this weeks games I want to share with you how truly sick I am. I have a habit of still doing my stats when I get eliminated from a playoff. This has proven quite frustrating over the years, the what-ifs, if I could have just pulled that one out, that type of stuff. Well the Dynasty would have scores 1027 this week with two coaching blunders that could have brought it to 1049 or 1069. Needless to say this makes last weeks loss all the more painful. Now I have to do it again this week. God I hope the Victory would have killed me, just to give me piece of mind.

The 3-T proved me right again, they truly are a team of destiny. It was a low scoring game this week against the Calamity. The Calamity only had 3 games from their Sacramento connection of Webber and Stoyo. Webber had a very mediocre 147 and Stoyo a dismal 114. The nail that celled their coffin was the big man Ming, who went in the tank with a 94.Going into Monday, things still looks good for Cates as Ming got to drop an 8 and Francis got to drop a 17 which they did with a 41 and 46 respectfully. Merv count the 3-T out, on Monday Williams dropped a 24 with a 47, Snow dropped a 23 with a 43 and what proved to be the difference was T-Mac. T-Mac had a 95 on his 3rd game and managed to edge out the Calamity 834 – 826. The 3-T win a close one for the 2nd week in a row on late Monday games. This truly is a team of destiny.

The Victory will get a chance after all to defend their title. The way the regular season ended, we weren’t sure if they had enough to repeat. It proved to be a hard fought game against the number one seed Contributors, but they had enough in the tank to get a 900 – 864 win. John got his normal production from Duncan a 230 and Wallace,B. a 213. The Phx connection let him down though as Marbury had a below avg. 129 and Stoudamire only had an 88. The lack of depth on John’s squad hurt his chances, as he had to go with Rose who and a pitiful 83. Brian overcame a 70 and an 88 by getting 205 from Marion and a game saving 238 from Davis,R. .

Will it be the team of destiny or the defending champs, stay tuned for this much-anticipated match-up.

Record last week : 2 – 0

Season to date : 63 – 25

I see myself increasing my record to 64 – 25 as the Victory squash the hopes of the 3-T as their incredible journey comes to an end. The Victory make it two in a row.
