Maze's Mumblings

Its almost over boys, another basketball regular season about to be in the books. There is not much suspense this year, the 3-T have the A-Div, and will play the Dynasty in the first round. The Contributors win the C-Div. and get a bye. The only thing left for grabs is the B-Div title. The winner of the Demons/Calamity game will not only win the Div. title, but they will get the crucial bye. The Demons are in a must win situation to advance past the first round as Wallace and Anderson have only 2 games in the first round. The Victory are lucky they had a great start as they have come upon hard times as of late.

Boy, Cassell, Murphy and Sprewell would look good on the Dynasty roster, oh wait they traded all three of them away to the Death. It’s no coincidence that the Death have been hot as of late as a result of the trade. They win again , this time over the Chuckers, granted that is no big accomplishment but its still a win in the win/loss column.

The Demons have put themselves in the drivers seat in the B-Div with their win over the Contributors. A win next week and they get the bye; a loss and they play the Victory. Eric is so confident in a win this week that he went to Disney this week and is leaving the coaching duties to his assistants. John must turn it up a notch this week because they are still within striking distance of the coveted high avg. side pot.

The Dynasty were playing for nothing this week as they already clinched a playoff spot. Pride was the driving force as they put the Pippers in the loss column again. The Big Ticket just missed the high series with a 265. One assist away from a triple double kept the record out of reach. Harpring's 53 kept them out of the top six. The Pippers coach was last seen sitting on the couch drinking another 6 pack mumbling something about wait till next year.

The Tre–Hawks ride Terry’s 180 to a victory over the Fury 792-764. Van Horne doomed the Fury with his 80. John’s pickup of Gooden has been a blessing but wins are not the result. John has to be looking at the C-Div standings and looking at the averages. They have virtually the same average as the Dynasty but the Dynasty are 8-5 and they are 2-11. Frustration has to be setting in. Al and Brian continue miscommunication on a starting lineup, one of these days I’ll get just one lineup from them.

The Calamity obviously took the Intercourts lightly as they were upset, 835-850. We had a Shaq sighting this week as he had a 231 series. This was the kind of numbers he was expecting all year. It comes a little too late as they are already eliminated. The Calamity control their own destiny this week as they face the Demons for the division title and a bye. If they lose the Victory await. The Calamity will have to be firing on all cylinders, as the Demons are one of the hottest teams in the league.

Coach Alford better start focusing, he has let his team slip right out of a Div title that looked all but shored up a few weeks ago. They can even lose their high average if they have another bad week. The Cleveland boys, Iggy and Davis have been stone cold. If they wish to get past the first round of the playoffs, they better pick it up. As usual 3-T were paced by McGrady, but it was Arenas that got them the win. He had a 185 and this future Nuggets point guard will need to stay hot for them to contend for a title. The coaching staff are crossing their fingers that Brand comes back from the DL sooner than later.

Terrible week last week = 2-4

Season to date = 56-22

      -    The Demons win another Div title by edging out the Calamity

 -    The Victory win this week over the Tre-Hawks, but its too late, they are wildcard
  game bound

-      In a game for the fun of it the Pippers beat the Intercourts

-      The Chuckers make it a nice round 2-12 against the 3-T

-      Dynasty have no games and Kidd is on the bench, they can’t match up against the
Contributors who have high average in their sights

-     The Death finish the season strong a win again, this time over the Fury
