Maze's Mumblings

In the A Div. the 3-T have allowed the Intercourts to stay alive by losing to the Calamity. In the B-Div. all 3 teams at the top won and no ground was lost or gained. This Div. will surely go down to the wire. In the C-Div. the Contributors should get their Div. title baring a mild miracle. The Dynasty has not given up hope though, as they get to play the Contrib. the last week of the season. We have Div. games this week as things really start to heat up.

I’ll start off with the Demons Chuckers game. Coach Erdman has made it known that their seems to be some prejudice by the sports writing team that they give too much positive press to the Victory, and not enough positive press to the Demons. Ok, here is your positive press, the Demons have made this league his personal playground over the years, and year after year he is in contention for a league title. His knowledge of the fantasy basketball game is unprecedented. Why he isn’t in first in the div. by now is still puzzling the league. The Victory have to be looking over their shoulder because the Demons are coming. The Demons have already given the Victory their only 2 losses of the season. Ok, that’s enough, now I don’t have to blubber on about the Demons the rest of the year. Just kidding Eric, I couldn’t resist. The Chuckers gave the Demons all they could handle this week, and this game wasn’t decided until Monday. The Chuckers blew it on Monday with Stack getting a 26,Billups 28 and Richardson a 23. The Demons made the comeback possible with Mobley getting a 74 on Monday.

The Pippers stay mathematically alive in the A by beating the Fury on a very tight game 810-794. The Pippers have a decent team, they just have had some tough breaks this year. Divac was a nice pickup this week, he had a 148. The Fury is another hard luck team. They are averaging 800 and have a 2-9 record to show for it. John cost himself this win , with a few minor coaching blunders.

The Death drop another one, and this time he can blame no one but himself. Jeff is usually very thorough, but he somehow missed that Miami only had 2 games this week. He started E. Jones and it cost him the win. 4 games from Kittles would have given him the win. The Intercourts will be sending Jeff a thank-you card this week, while the 3-T now have a hit on Jeff for allowing the Intercourts to close the gap in the A – Div.

The Dynasty overcame 2 coaching blunders that would have given them a league high 984, but only got an 841. Luckily they were playing the Tre-hawks who only had a 742. If B. Davis comes back soon, maybe this team might have something to say come playoff time. The Hawks can’t wait for the season to end, as we all know how tough it is to stay focused when you are out of it. Garnett’s high game of 212 got beat by McGrady this week with a 214, butt Kidd also beat the record with a 214 himself.

The Calamity bounce back from last weeks pathetic performance by beating the 3-T  916-889. They did it with Webber still out. He is back now and the Calamity will be a full strength the rest of the season and this is a team no one wants to see come playoff time. The 3-T loss was not a total loss as McGrady now has a piece of the high player with a 214. He just missed the series high of 270, with a 269.

The Victory flex their muscles again as they are the high team with a 939. The strange thing with this team is the fact that they have not made one line-up change to their starters all year. The Contributors felt confident in their chances of a mild upset this week but Duncan’s pedestrian 137 killed them. Stoudamire seems to be slowing down a little too. Don’t get too comfortable John, the Dynasty is creeping up on you.

I neglected the predictions the last few weeks. I looked it over and updated my predictions if I was to have given one.

Record to date : 50-16

Record last week : 5-1

-- In a must win game for both teams , the 3-T hold off the hard charging               Intercourts in a close one

n      The Chuckers are scoring points now but they should still lose again, this time to the Pippers

n     The Demons barely break a sweat in disposing of the Tre-hawks

n     The Calamity pull off the upset of the Victory which will make the B-Div a race to be remembered

n     The Fury make a game of it, but the Contributors pull it out

The Dynasty are in a must win in order to catch the Contrib., and get the needed win against the Death
