Maze's Mumblings

The regular has come to a close, and we have had quite a few surprises. The Contributors, perennial losers get a bye. The expansion Calamity, gets a bye, and is now talking trash. It's like he was always a member of this league and is popping off. Someone needs to put the new guy back in his place. Shaq was a fantasy disappointment, Walker, Miller,A. Carter, Davis,B. just to mention a few.  There were surprises as well, too many too mention. The B-Div race was one to be remembered. It has been an entertaining year and I hope to everyone back next year. I will be coming out with a vote sheet for next year within the next few weeks, so please return that ASAP when it arrives.

The Death finish strong and save what little respect he had left this year. Again his trades proved to be a genius move, it just came along too late. The Fury finish with the worst record in the league, their average was respectable, but the schedule makers were unkind to John.

The game of the week had the Calamity and demons pitted against one another. The Division and Bye were at steak. The Calamity only had 3 games for each of his starters but didn’t let that stop him from having the weekly high score of 940. Dirk had his usual nice game but the rest of the team failed to make a dent. Erdman goes into the playoffs with Wallace on the bench with 2 games; we’ll have to see what kind of death this team has.

The Dynasty stunk it up against the Contributors, but it probably wouldn’t have mattered because John had a nice week with a 934. The Dynasty chances are dim in round one of the playoffs as Garnett only has 2 games. McSwain gets the Bye and can rest up his team for a championship run.

The Victory won with a score of 810-717. It was barely enough to hold off McSwain for the high average side pot. Alford hopes his team gets it together if they are to repeat as champions. He is not off to a good start this week as he benched Iggy and he had a 60 to start the week and his replacement had a 28 in their first game. The Demons are without Wallace, so it should be a good match up. The Tre-Hawks couldn’t get this season over with soon enough as they submitted no stats for the second week in a row.

The Intercourts look good on paper, and occasionally they show up on the court too. They had a nice week this week any easily disposed of the Pippers 870-770. The Pippers Sacramento connection of Divac and Bibby both couldn’t break the 100 mark, needless to say that cost them the game. Rose hopes changing partners from Brown to McIlvain in baseball changes his fantasy luck.

The Chuckers were 2-11 going into this week and were playing the Div-champ 3-T. They boldly predicted a win and wouldn’t you know it they pulled it off. Jeff can now go into the baseball season on a positive note and look forward to doing stats again. The 3-T get the Dynasty with KG with only 2 games but they may have lost Brand for the season. This was not the news they had hoped for. The 3 headed monster of the Myers boys proved to be enough to come out of the weak A-Div. It’s a nice way top get reacquainted with basketball, a Div title.

                   Record last week;  3-3

                   Season to date ; 59-25

The Victory win a close one over the Demons

The 3-T win a low scoring close one over the Dynasty
