The Cossack Report Championship & SB # 3

In a battle of past champions, the Manatees upended the number one ranked Wapati 76-61. In what has become a tradition, the #1 seed cannot close the deal. The Wapati coaches were looking to make it 2 in a row, but the way they have been playing of late they didn’t feel too good about their chances. Malafala filled in nicely for Bettis with a 15 and S.F. QB’s got their usual 16. The TE Clark getting a 0, and the S.D. def. getting 1 proved to be the dagger that doomed them. To make matters worse, coach Hayden lost the championship in the other league he is in. The Manatees have to be congratulated by getting their name on the trophy for the 2^nd time. I know one owner who would cut off his left nut to get his name on it once (I think we know who that is). The Free-agent pick up Chicago def. earlier in the season took this team to the top. The Def. had a much-needed 27 and that couldn’t have come at a better time. The Manatee coaches made a lot of right calls this year, RB Alexander , Free-agent pick-ups Miami Qb’s, Chicago’s Def., WR Horn in a break-out year, WR Brown in a break-out year, and a solid season from RB Green. Got to give the props when they are due. If any of you get within earshot of Ratt, make sure the plugs are in, because I’m sure you’ll get an earful.

In scrub-bowl 3 the Cossacks finally put it together for a league high 83. It’s a little late to start getting it together but I’ll take it. Too bad I couldn’t have made it to the bowl, I would have won. The Destroyers had another good finish with 70, this is another team peaking a little too late.
