The Cossacks Fall off the Pace

In what was the Cossacks worst performance of the year, (36) Coach Karmazyn is now looking at the play-offs as a fan instead of a participant. Things don’t get any easier this week, as they face the div. leading Bandits. If the Cossacks can pull off the upset, they will be right back in the race. The Death are relishing their role as spoiler and have lit a fire under his team. WR Moulds took heed to the ranting of coach J. Snyder and had a week total that exceeded his season total to date-31.

The Bandits are peaking at the right time, and increase their lead in the B-div. to 2 pts. With 3 players scoring more than 20, they had little trouble with the scrub bowl bound Hummers. The Hummers obviously blew their load last week, and came out flat this week. Their Philly combo only had 14 this week.

The Manatees bounced back from their loss to the Cossacks this week by humiliating the A-div. leading Hitmen. The Green/Alexander RB tandem had 39 this week. The Manatee coaches continue to look like geniuses for picking up Alexander. Without this RB they would be a quite ordinary team, but with him they are truly contenders. The Hitmen must be saving something for the play-offs. They must not realize that they might have just blown their chance at a bye.

The Demons summoned all their evil power they had to show signs of respectability. They did, and got a top 8 and a win over the Cows 71-48. Rhodes is actually doing better than James was, so maybe it was a blessing he got hurt. N.E. QB’s have proved to be a pleasant surprise as well. The Cows on the other hand are a team in complete disarray. Warrick gets hurt, Warren is a platooner, TE Jones hasn’t played in two weeks, and Rice Came back to reality.

The Wapati are proving that they are mortal and lower their guard for the week. The Destoyers, who were in a must win situation pulled out the 62-59 win. The Wapati must be in cruise control now that they locked up their div. , this is the only reason I can see for the let down. The Destroyers used a former Wapati player < Dyson > to beat them. They also had a little help from the fact that ST.L. couldn’t challenge Dunn’s TD because they were out of time outs when he was clearly out of bounds.

The Bombers for all practical purposes have been relegated to the scrub bowl with their loss to the c-div leader Machine 80-42. Next week the Bombers face the Luck with Smith hurt and Barber off, this game might as well be over now. The Machine’s win gave them the C-Div. crown, now they have their sights set on catching the Wapati for the bye. Frank is quite proud of his I.L. QB replacement Pitt. They had 24 for the week. I might have to dust off my old Cordell shirt; he has been playing great so far this year.

What can I say about the Contributors that already haven’t been said? This team continues to over trade and make to many free-agent moves that cost him year after year. Maybe one of these days he’ll leave his team alone just to see what happens. The Luck got the last top 8 and is only one pt. Out of the wild-card. Someone needs to tell RB Hearst that he was suppose to take it easy this and slowly work his way back into shape. He continues to improve with each week and now is a feature back that is to be feared.

The Fish are doing their best to throw away a wild-card spot that was all but their a few weeks ago. The Maulers rose from the depths of the Fantasy League basement to play the spoiler. RB Alstott flexed his guns and ran through the ST.L. def like a sieve for 19 pts , to put the Maulers on top 68-66. Free-agent pick-up Chambers pitched in for an unexpected 22 and is setting his team up for a good scrub bowl run. They have vowed to get at least one. The Fish have been scoring well as of late but it just seems to be a little short each week. The Contributors could be just what the doctor ordered.
