And Then There Was One

After four weeks the Cossacks remain the only undefeated team and hold on to high average, as well as take over the high point total. Not bad for a team that was not thought of as a contender after the draft. When will you other owners realize that the Cossacks are, and will always be contenders as long as coach Karmazyn is running the show. There were comments that the Hitmen / Cossacks game shouldn’t be a four star game. You were definitely wrong, this game was high scoring and close 77-71. The Hitmen made a trade to get ready for the mighty Cossacks, and it almost made the difference. QB Warner once again led the way for coach Karmazyn with another great performance, he had 22.

The Death finally break into the win column. It took four games, but better late than never. Many of us thought TE walls was old, injury prone and on the way down. He is out to prove us all wrong, with his strong 21 pt effort this week. The Manatees look like geniuses this week for having picked Alexander in the draft. He single handedly woke the sea. off. up . They also look quite smart with the Chicago def. pick-up, they got 24. All these great moves and no win to show for it. The only consolation is they got the last top 8 spot. Don’t call Ratt on the phone anytime soon, he has a short fuse,, due to his teams recent downturn.

What happened to the bandits this week? No longer a member off the unbeaten club, they lost 45-78 to the Cows. Al’s only double digit scorer was off week pick-up Pitt kickers. Al is scowering the free-agent list for any help that he can find. The Cows , with Robinson off the dl list can now be a team to contend with. The St.L. def. pick-up , which was a gamble, looks pretty good now too.

Thank –you for the ability to pick-up free-agents. Two led the way this week for the Demons, the G.B. def had 14, and Pinkston had 19. This win was much needed to even try to keep pace with the Cossacks. Times could still be tough though because rb Dayne may be hurt, time will tell on that one. The Hummers get coaching blunder this week. They were nice enough to call me Sunday morning to fix a line-up mistake I made. They pulled out Jackson , and put in Gardner. If they would have left it alone, they would have won. Sometimes honesty can cost you.

Please, someone please tell me how the lowest scoring average team in the league with only one top eight finish is 3-1. Steve Snyder keeps referring to the fact that he was one of the top scoring teams in the league last year and didn’t make the play-offs. I don’t want to hear that, and either does the rest of the league. I just want to know which referees you are paying off so can I can fire them immediately. This week there was only two teams they could have beaten , and guess what , they played the Bombers, the lowest scoring team of the week. They beat the Luck 45-42. Alford finally got smart and gave the Buffalo def the ax. Too bad they didn’t do it last week, they would have won. Outside of Minn QB’s they can’t seem to find consistent scoring from any player.

Lee’s 2-0 is a distant memory. They are now 2-2 and fading fast. Rumor has it that their first round pick the Tenn. QB’s are going to get the ax this week. If it wasn’t for wr Smith, this team has very little to offer. The Fish got huge numbers from the N.Y.G. def this week, 25 pts. Not that they needed them, but it was nice to see. RB smith continues to impress. They are however considering giving Freeman the boot. What happened to him, just a few years ago he was a solid first rounder, and know he’s lucky to catch a ball.

Poor Mcswain, starting to sound like a broken record aren’t I? 66 and lose , plus just miss the top eight. RB Williams and Tampa finally had good games , but it wasn’t enough against the Wapati. The S.F. Owens hook up was big this week , with 41 between them. The Wapati are starting to run away with this division. Maybe they should miss their 3rd round pick every year. Schroeder is this teams sleeper so far. He is right at the top in WR scoring.

Last but not least, the Maulers drop to a depressing 0-4, leaving them , the only team without a win. Normally 65 should be good enough for a win, I said normally. They managed to increase their points scored against average to a new league high 80. The Machine blew up, and I mean in a good way. They now have the new league high, 112. Granted I may have to put an * next to it. RB Anderson got a bogus 60+ yard td when he stepped out on the two. If you look at his team breakdown in scoring , it was truly quite impressive.

Steve Snyder just missed winning his parlay this week by one game, I hope to have more parlays in the future.

Record last week = 3-5
