Manatees stay atop the DIV. a short one

As usual the Manatees were no match for the Mighty Cossacks. The Manatee coaches were so confident that they bet coach Karmazyn with the 15 pt. spread. Turns out the Cossacks should have been giving the 15, as they easily outplayed them 75-59. The loss drops them from 1st to 3rd in the div. When will Ratt learn, there are some things he just can’t do, hit a HR, dunk a basketball and beat the Cossacks.

The Bandits have moved into 1st place in the B-div. for the first time this year, by beating the doormat Demons. As a matter of fact, lets just start referring to the Demons as Double D (DD), on a regular basis, I like the way it sounds. The bandits WR Harrison had a quiet week but the N.O. QB’s more than made up for it with 25. The DD got off to a good start with Pollard catching a bomb, but little else happened after that. It has become quite evident that the DD have already become more interested in his basketball team, since there is little to cheer for from his FFL team.

Move over Machine, we have a new all-time high for a week. The Hummers, have broken the record with a team high 128, that’s not a misprint, 128. They also took over high player, with Moss getting a new high, 38. We’ve all been waiting for Moss to go off, it was just a matter of time. The Cows just had to sit back and laugh, watching his team get throttled in such a manner. Coach Driver thought that his huge coaching blunders of leaving Rice and Sanders 47 pts on the bench would cost them. Turns out they would have needed a lot more than that to keep pace. The championship they got in the college league will lesson his sorrow a little bit I’m sure.

With Gannon and Faulk having their usual big days, the Hitmen didn’t need much more to beat the struggling Death. The Hitmen would now have to have a complete collapse to blow their 7 pt. Lead in the division. The Death now have the unenviable task of taking on the Cossacks which I’m sure will all but eliminate them from contention.

The 4 star game lived up to the hype, as the Machine sweep their archrival Fish, this time 77-73. Funny thing happened again, every time I badmouth or talk about a player, he goes off the next week. I questioned the pick-up of Plummer and he busts out a 24. Maybe I should start bad mouthing my own players, quite a few could use a good tongue-lashing. The Machine took advantage of another big day from Booker, 36, and held onto a slim 77-69 lead going into Monday night. The Giants def. could only muster a 4 and the win gives the machine a nice 4 pt. Lead in the div.

I bet the Contributors wish they had another QB move. They are now stuck with Cleveland, and if the –1 they got this week is a sign of things to come, their season is over. Realistically it already is, but mathematically they still have hope. Again this is another team that must look forward to Basketball. The Fish got the much needed extra pt. In their loss to maintain their slim lead in the race for a play-off spot. I’m going on record as saying that Boston is a stud, and should be a star fantasy player for years to come.

The Wapati do it again, this time by a balanced scoring attach that featured all 3 WR’s in double figures. The 69-66 victory over the Luck have clinched the div. for the Wapati with 3 weeks still to play. I’m sure that has got to be some sort of record. The Luck made an unexpected game of even though they were down 36 going into Monday night. They ended up getting 32 from Culpepper and Hilliard, but it was not quite enough. The Luck are now one of 4 teams fighting for a single play-off spot and slip up between now and the end of the season could doom this team.

Last but not least, the lowly Maulers and the Bombers. The Bombers pulled another much needed victory and are still in contention for the wild-card. The Maulers are team in complete shambles. It doesn’t matter at this point what they do, it will be the wrong choice. The coaches of this team have gone away for a while, so to speak. Rumor has it that the 31 they scored this week was too much and they checked themselves into the loony bin and are getting the much needed counseling these two deserve.

Record last week : 5-3

Overall record : 45-33
