This one was one for the Ages

It’s truly a shame that someone had to lose this one. The Manatees ended up on the winning side of a 95 ½ - 95 barnburner. This game will go down as the highest scoring play-off game in our league history. These teams exchanged blows all game , the Rb’s off set each other with Alexander getting 24, and Faulk getting 30. the Def’s did the same with Chicago getting 19 and Tampa getting 15. This game came down to the last game of the week. The Hitmen needed 10 from Chrebet to get the win. He started the game off blazing, getting 5 bonus pts by half-time. That’s when the worst thing imaginable for the Hitmen happened. Chrebet had to go to the locker room for cramps in the 2^nd half. His time out of the game cost the Hitmen the win. He ended up with 9 pts and got the tie. The game being in Ft. Myers proved to be the difference. Coach Ratliff said the 60,000 screaming manatees in the bleachers would not be denied. This is why we play the regular season, to get that precious home field advantage. Coach Passarella is still in a state of shock and hasn’t been able to sleep since. Coach Phillups is out of town and I haven’t heard his reaction yet. Coach Ratliff already is talking the talk, by saying we might as well start engraving the trophy now. The Manatees on the trophy for a second time would really hurt this sportswriter, go wapati!!!!

On the complete opposite of the spectrum, neither team wanted to win this game. The fish made a nice run to get there, but when it mattered most, this team crushed under the pressure of the top ranked Wapati 51-38. going into the late game the Fish looked to be in the drivers seat. They still had Ari. QB’s, Boston and Freeman to go. When they went to check the stats and found out they got 2 pts between them , their hopes of a championship were dashed. The Wapati are thrilled to get the chance at the championship, especially since their team has been so quiet over the last month. Hayden and Crowe are looking forward to getting their name on the trophy for a 3^rd time. Most teams would be happy with one tile, but not these guys.

In scrub bowl 2, the Destroyers were relatively uncontested with an unheard of for this team 93. This team ended up finishing in the bottom 4 scoring for the year and owes $ 20 next year and were looking to erase that dept and quick. Coach Snyder vowed to get at least one, just like they did last year. I guess this means I have to move him up in the odds for next weeks game.
