Playoffs Round Two

The Championship game is all set, it will be the Razor Clams hosting the Connection for the league championship this year. Both semi-final games were close battles, as all 4 teams scored between 66 and 60 points. You couldn't ask for more close games! The Clams have not been themselves of late as far as their normal scoring output, but are scoring just enough to get the wins. The Connection pretty much went through the motions during the regular season, but certainly have turned it up a notch and are back in the finals, yet again. Chris and Scott sure seem to know how to find their way to the finals in the fantasy leagues they compete in.

Here is how the games in round two of the playoffs were decided:

Razor Clams 66    Chieftains 64
Ron's Clams advance to the finals thanks to their 2 point win over the Chieftains. The Clams got big games from Henry with 20 and WR Smith with 16, and hold on to get the nod in the close battle. Vick was pretty much held in check, but it was a crucial 2 point conversion by Horn that was the deciding factor. Luckily for Ron, the decision to leave Alexander and his solid week on the bench, did not come back to haunt him .Next up for the Clams is the Connection, and it should be another close game. Harry's Chieftains were oh so close, but come up just a little short. Not a bad game from any of the Chieftains players, but no one really had the breakout game that Harry needed to advance on. Favre was okay with 10, but Rickey couldn't follow up his 2 consecutive 200yds rushing games with another breakout game, and it left the Chieftains on the losing end of a great game. A solid season for Harry, a tough loss sends the Chieftains packing.

Connection 63    Double Stuffed 60
Chris/Scott advance to the championship game yet again as they turn back the Stuffed in another close game. Chris/Scott keep pilling up the impressive fantasy league performances. The Connection got solid weeks from Manning, McAllister and Gardner, along with a 13 point game from K Edinger. One more game to go for the Connection, as they can add another chapter in their impressive fantasy league performances. Fran and Billy bow out of the playoffs, as they fall to the Connection. This season was all about the leagues best performer Priest Holmes for the Stuffed. He pretty much carried the team this year, and did so in a record breaking fashion. This week though Priest got banged up and could only manage 8 points, well below his season average. Add to it a bad week from their recently hot QB Johnson, and it was a 3 point loss. It was good season for Fran/Billy, but certainly a disappointing finish knowing that they had a solid chance to move on.

Week #16 Preview
Last week's record: 1-1   Year to Date: 42-36
Double Stuffed @ Razor Clams
The Connection have the horses to hang with the Clams, but will need a solid week if they want the championship. Manning and McAllister is a solid 1-2 punch, and both are capable of big days. Gardner has been solid all year for the team, but will need Ward to bounce back from a off week. The game breaker for the Connection could be the New Orleans Def, who has the much better matchup of the two defenses as they face the lowly Bengals. The Razor Clams have some serious depth, and Ron needs to pick the right players as he has 6 RB/WR all playing well right now. Tough life for the Clams, having to many good players! If Ron picks the 4 best, and the Oakland Def doesn't get lit up by the resurgent Broncos, the Championship is theirs for the taking.  Pick: Razor Clams

Good luck to the two remaining teams! I am outta here......
