Week #11
With two weeks to go in the regular season, only the Steamrollers have clinched a division title, while the wildcard spots are all still up for the taking. Here is a rundown of the playoff possibilities for each team:
A Division
Razor Clams 20 Points Control their own destiny, as they have
a 7-6 lead in wins over Faukers. Play CRMO and Dynamite, a win over either
clinches wildcard spot
Faukers 20 Points Same scenario as Clams, controls destiny with wins in both division and wildcard races
Dynamite 18 Points Trails Chieftains by 1 and Clams by 2 in wildcard race, but also can still win division with 2 wins and Faukers losses
Lunatics 14 Points Needs to win out and get help with losses by 5 teams ahead of them
B Division
CRMO 21 Points Controls own destiny, matchup with Chieftains
final week could be for division title. One win and wildcard spot is assured
Chieftains 19 Points Matchup final week with CRMO is huge, but must win against Faukers this coming week to set up showdown. Wildcard spot is assured with a win either week
Death 14 Points Needs to win out, including top 8 finishes, and needs Dynamite & Chieftains to lose both
Uhl's 11 Points Eliminated from playoffs
C Division
Steamrollers 25 Points Clinched division title
Double Stuffed 19 Points Needs a win/top 8 and Lemurs loss and wildcard spot is clinched, has top wildcard spot in hand right now
Connection 18 Points Has 2nd wildcard spot currently, needs a win/top 8 and Lemurs loss and they're in
Bombers 12 Points Needs 2 wins, 2 top 8 finishes and Connection, Lemurs and Dragons to lose out
D Division
Lemurs 16 Points Controls own destiny, wins last two weeks
along with top 8 and the division is theirs, any losses and they will need help
Dragons 15 Points Needs to win out, and have Lemurs lose one, or win one and Lemurs lose out for division, one loss and Connection win and wildcard spot is gone
Maulers 13 Points Needs to win out with top 8 finishes, and then needs Connection, Lemurs and Dragons to lose out
Starfish 12 Points Needs top win out, and have every other team in the wildcard race to lose out (probably not a possibility based on matchups)
Now, lets take a look at the action from week #11:
Dynamite 97 Faukers 57
Larry takes top honors this week with 97
points and a crucial win over division rival Faukers. Moss finally had a solid
game with 15, and Staley had a nice 18 to lead the team. Larry has his team in
fine shape for the playoffs, now he needs a few wins and he is in. Troy/Trent
took a gamble and started Marshall, and of course he didn't play on MNF. Didn't
matter much though as they rest of the team really was no match for the big week
by the Dynamite. The Faukers still have the league high scoring average, but are
in a battle for a playoff spot, and need a few wins to clinch it.
Razor
Clams 96 Lunatics 84
In the game of the week, Ron gets the nod as
his team had just enough to overcome the Lunatics. Vick led the way with 18, as
the Clams have taken over the lead in the A Division. Corey suffers the tough
loss as his team posted the 4th high in the league, but couldn't get a win. This
loss hurts even more as it really puts the Lunatics in a tough spot for the
playoffs as they will need 2 wins and lost of help.
Death
68 CRMO 57
Jeff/Steve finally get elusive win #4 as
they turn back the division leading CRMO. George finally stepped up and had 17,
but the Death will have a tough time making the playoffs as they will need
serious help for things to work out. JR could have made it easy on himself with
a win this week, but it was not to be. Now JR faces a tough battle ahead, with a
possible one game showdown with the Chieftains if they both win this coming
week.
Chieftains 78 Uhl's 55
Harry gets a nice effort from his team as
they pull even closer to the division leader in the C Division race. A win this
coming week for the Chieftains, and the final week game against the CRMO will be
for the division title. Kevin's team drops to 3-8 and right out of the playoff
picture. Garcia has played well of late for the team, but they have two games
left against teams that have slim playoff hopes so they are just playing out the
season for a little respect.
Bombers 52 Steamrollers 33
Bill/John get a much needed win, keeping
their slim playoff hopes alive. Green took over the QB position for the
disappointing Culpepper and he had a team high 11. The Bombers will need lost to
happen though to make the playoffs. Al/Boyd post the league low this week, and
clinch the division in the process! Thanks to the Stuffed's loss, the C Division
crown is theirs. A new QB will be needed for the 'Rollers, as they can only hope
that is the only injury the will have as they try to stay healthy in the final
two weeks.
Connection 85 Double Stuffed 72
Chris/Scott continue their long climb back
and have now positioned themselves for yet another playoff run. Ward was huge
this week for the team as he had a huge 30 point game as they knock off the
struggling Stuffed. Fran/Billy continue to see their team fall apart, as they
lose this week and also lose stud QB McNabb most likely for the balance of the
season. They still have a solid chance at the playoffs, and with league MVP so
far Holmes leading the attack, anything is possible with this team.
Starfish 52 Lemurs 52
In a key battle for their playoff lives,
these two teams end up in a tie at 52, with the Starfish winning on the home
field advantage. Brian/Brian get the win, but still need a miracle finish for a
playoff spot. Ray/Jeff could have opened up a nice lead in the division, but
couldn't get that one more point needed. The Lemurs still have the D Division
lead, but are in a battle the last two weeks with many teams for a playoff spot.
Maulers 82 Dragons 72
Break up the Maulers! After a season long
struggle, Brian's team finally puts it all together as they post a season high
82. Denver Def was the deciding factor as they had 23, nice pickup this week!
Brian faces a must win week the last two weeks, and even then still needs lost
of help. Steve/Marvin suffer a tough loss, as they had a top 8 finishes but fell
victim to the breakout week for the Maulers. The Dragons are in the playoff
race, but must get a few wins to really help their bid for the postseason.
