Week #7
We have a new leader! The Faukers went off for a season league high score of 120 this week, thanks to the top two performances in the league from Faulk and Sharpe. These two combine for 79 points, more than 13 of the teams scored as a team this week. That deserves a big, "WOW". Not to be outdone by much, the Double Stuffed and Steamrollers had 90+ point weeks and also sit a top the league as the teams to beat right now.
The Razor Clams got a win over division foe the Dynamite, to sit 4 points back of the Faukers in the A Division. The B Division winners this week were the Death and CRMO. Two in a row for the Death, break up the team! The Lemurs and Starfish won the D Division games this week, as the Starfish narrowly beat the Dragons by one point.
Week #8 will prove to be a crucial week for many teams, and the bye week teams this week will really hurt some squads. Throw in a few injured players, and the week has all the makings of upset special!
Now, lets take a look at the action from week #7:
Razor Clams 64 Dynamite 55
Ron's team gets a win over the Dynamite in a
key A Division matchup. The Clams got 22 from Horn and 17 from Vick as the Clams
move to 5-2, but do miss out on a top 8 finish. Larry's squad got a nice 21
point game from Hearst, along with the top kicking performance of the week from
Felly with 17, but Moss continues to struggle and they came up a bit short.
Larry has got to scratching his head at Moss' disappointing year, but it is just
a matter of time before he goes off.
Faukers 120 Lunatics 75
Corey definitely picked the wrong week to
play the Faukers, as Trent/Troy's team post a new league high score of 120.
Faulk finally had the game we all knew was coming as he had 39, but Shannon
Sharpe with 40?????? Throw in Gannon with 21, and the Faukers didn't need much
else from the team. The Lunatics had a top 8 finish with 75, as their WR's were
solid going 19-15-10. Tough week for Corey, but a little good news as his team
has scored well the last two weeks, just caught a real tough opponent this week.
Death
69 Uhl's 46
Jeff/Steve get win #2 as their Death team
easily turns back the Uhl's. Martin looks like he is back to form as he had 13,
and fellow RB Stewart filled in admirably for bye week George with a team high
22. Next up for the Death is the Faukers, so win #3 in a row may be tough to
come by. Kevin's team was doomed from the start, as he started Tennessee Def who
was on a bye. Not much good news for the Uhl's, as Garcia still is struggling to
put it together this year.
CRMO
61 Chieftains 37
JR's team bounces back from a loss with a
solid win over the Chieftains. Tomlinson continues to shine for the team as he
had 25 this week, and Thomas added 10 to nearly beat the Chieftains alone.
Harry's team is definitely struggling right now, and watching Favre go down
could only make Harry's life more difficult. Now the team loses Favre and Rickey
to bye weeks, so they really need someone to step up or the will fall even
further down the standings.
Steamrollers 90 Connection 62
Al/Boyd get a nice 90 point week from their
team, despite having their two top RB's on a bye. Griese had a nice 21 point
game, and Duckett comes out of no where to score 15 before leaving with an
injury. The 'Rollers are just a single point back in the C Division, and with
weeks like this they seem to be a team to fear all year long. Scott/Chris get a
big MNF game from Ward, and a solid 17 from McAllister, but two 0's a 1 and a 2
were to much to overcome this week. Being in the same division as two of the top
teams in the league will have the Connection looking for a wildcard spot.
Double
Stuffed 99 Bombers 57
Fran/Billy get a "normal" game from Holmes
with 29, and solid games from TE/K/Def to easily turn back the Bombers. McNabb
was human with just 9, but the team didn't need a big game from him this week.
The 'Stuffed are a tough team, and will be around come playoff time with the 1-2
punch they have at QB/RB. Bill/John are growing a little tired of Dante's up and
down year, and this was a down week for sure. James showed flashes of old on
Monday, but didn't find the end zone. The Bombers face the same problem as the
Connection, being in the toughest division in the league.
Lemurs
75 Maulers 37
Ray/Jeff get a solid week from their team as
the Maulers didn't prove to be much of a challenge. Taylor stays healthy yet
again and has a team high 20 point game. The Lemurs are now 3-4 and right there
in the D Division race. Brian's team continues to struggle to score points, and
this week was the same old. Bettis did have his second good game in the row,
before leaving with a knee injury that will keep him out at least one week.
Someone needs to step up on the Maulers real soon.
Starfish 78 Dragons 77
In the game of the week, Brian/Brian's team
gets the narrow win over the Dragons. Brooks was big for the 'Fish with 24, and
Green Bay Def had a solid 18 point game to help the team get the much needed
win. Steve's Dragons suffer a tough loss, as Pennington and Green both lost
fumbles to leave the team a point short. Green did finally have a good game with
26, and Pennington stepped up with 15. The Dragons still lead the D Division,
but missed a golden opportunity to put a little distance between them and the
rest of the division.
