Week #4

After a two week hiatus, the Commish's Corner is back! Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and patience as my family dealt with the untimely passing of my father-in-law.

First we'll start off with news of a change in management in the league. Ernie Novey has hired the management firm of Snyder & Snyder to take over the day to day operations of his team. Ernie just didn't have then time to dedicate to the league as he had hoped, so he has turned the team over to the Commish and his brother. The team has been renamed Delaware Death.

Four week are now in the books for the league, and no undefeated teams are left. Week #4 saw the Dragons post the top score with 108, and the Razor Clams rode the back of Alexander's huge day to also post a 100 point game. CRMO keeps rolling along with a 84 point week, and the Faukers round out the top 4 in the league behind the pass happy Raiders QB Gannon.

The league has really picked up steam as far as daily operations go. Everyone seems to have the new website figured out, and the deadlines for reporting scores and transactions. If you still have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for getting on board with the program so quickly.

Now, lets take a look at the action from week #4:

Faukers 94    Dynamite 64
Troy/Trent get another solid week from Gannon, and their deep WR group posted impressive games of 14-10-14. The Faukers have the lead in the A Division, and if Marshal every starts playing like Marshal, not like a good RB, they will be tough to beat. Larry's team got a -2 from QB Collins, promptly releasing him after that dismal performance. Driver had a nice 23 point game, but the bad QB game, along with a bad week from their Donkey Def, it was not enough for a win. The Dynamite did manage a top 8 finish.

Razor Clams 100    Lunatics 35
RB Alexander goes off for a huge 51 point game, as Ron's team trashes the Lunatics by 65. Bye week QB Green also was impressive with a 28 point effort, which was more than enough for the win. The Clams get Vick back this week, but lose Alexander to a bye, but Ron gets the newly named Death team, who are still winless in week #5. Corey gets a 0 from QB Brunell, a 0 from RB Jones and a -1 from N.O. Def. Going against a 51 point game by one player, that was not good news for the Lunatics. Things aren't all bad for Corey, as he gets Davis and Owens back from bye weeks as he squares off with JR in week #5.

CRMO 84    Death 48
JR breaks in the new owners with another solid game, as he beats the Death convincingly. Tomlinson went off for 32 points, and Tampa Bay Def was again the league leader with 27. This offset a 0 point week from his WR's, something that has to concern JR a bit. Steve & Jeff join the league with a team that had been scoring, but could get a win. This week the team didn't score and lost yet again. Bledsoe remains hot with 25, but the Death RB's have been a huge disappointment.

Uhl's 70    Chieftains 50
Kevin gets his first win of the year, in a major upset over the previously undefeated Chieftains. Rice looks like the Rice of many years ago as he leads the Uhl's with 18. If Garcia returns to form after the bye week, good things may be ahead for Kevin's team. Harry suffers his first loss of the year, as QB Favre had a bad week, and the Chieftains WR's struggled. The RB combo of Williamsx2 looks like a good one for Harry.

Steamrollers 79    Bombers 51
Al/Boyd get a solid week as their team posts a solid win and a top 8 finish. Heap went off Monday to seal the win, and got help from Burress who finally got on the board with his first TD catch of the year. Dillon continues to struggle for the 'Rollers, but when he finally gets on track, and you know that is coming, look out for this team. Bill/John have an average week, and suffer a division loss. Culpepper just can't seem to put it together as the Vikings offense is in shambles right now. If/when that happens, the Bombers have the RB's to go along with solid WR's to be dangerous.

Connection 72    Double Stuffed 63
Chris/ Scott get on the board with their first win of the year, in another upset of a previously undefeated team. McAllister was solid again with 17 to lead the Connection, who get a win despite QB Manning being on a bye. Fran/Billy drop their first game of the year in a close battle. McNabb was human this week, and a dnp by TE Cleeland and a 0 from RB Anderson didn't help matters. McNabb will be back and with Holmes the best RB in the league right now, they will be tough to beat.

Lemurs 49    Starfish 44
Ray/Jeff have an off week scoring, but their 49 points was enough to get a win over the Starfish. It wasn't pretty as Taylor had a nice 21 point game, but QB Couch posted a -2, while no other player scored in double digits for the Lemurs. With that being said, they did win, which is the bottom line. Brian/Brian get a 0 from stud WR Boston and no other player really stepped up and the Fish suffer another low scoring week and the loss. Emmitt is showing his age and probably can't be trusted to be a #1 RB, so the Fish have hope that Barlow gets the carries for the 49ers.

Dragons 108    Maulers 30
Steve's team gets the win in a laugher over the injury depleted Maulers. Gonzo just about wrapped up the TE sidepot for the year with his monster 33 point game, and every Dragon player except stud RB Green scored 10+. That is a complete team effort! Brian's team is fighting the injury bug right now, as they currently have 5 players on the IR. Losing Warner is not good, but then again he hadn't been playing all that well to begin with. The injury to Mason will also hurt, not to mention Bettis is still looking to get on the positive side after 4 weeks. Yes, the Bus has -1 so far this year!
