Week #13

The regular season has come to a close and the 8 playoff teams have been decided. Here is who will be playing for the league championship this year:

Division Winners:     Razor Clams, CRMO, Steamrollers, Lemurs
Wildcard Teams:     Faukers, Chieftains, Double Stuffed, Connection

The highlights of the final week of regular season play was the CRMO/Chieftains battle for the B Division title. The CRMO won that game and their reward is a re-match against the Chieftains in round one of the playoffs. The Lemurs won the Division, taking care of business against the Maulers, and winning the division with the tiebreaker over the Dragons.

The Steamrollers took top honors this year with 29 team points. All sidepots have concluded and the final results are available on the prize fund page.

Now, lets take a look at the action from week #13:

Razor Clams 91    Dynamite 71
Ron's Clams put an end to the Dynamite's playoff bid with the top score in the league this week. Vick remains red hot, weaving his way to a nice 26 point week. The Clams have the Faukers up next in the the playoffs and are a team playing real well these days. Larry's season comes to a close as they finish 1 point back of the Faukers for the final wildcard spot. Hearst had a great week for the Dynamite, but a -4 from QB Couch was to much to overcome.

Lunatics 51    Faukers 43
Corey's team goes out with a win, but still falls a little short of the playoffs. Owens did take the WR sidepot, so not all was lost for Corey. Troy/Trent did make the playoffs, but their team is really fighting it right now. Gannon remains the top QB in the league, taking home the QB sidepot. Getting Marshall back in form next week is an absolute must if the Faukers want to advance in the playoffs.

Death 89    Uhl's 60
Yawn............

CRMO 88    Chieftains 72
The B Division title goes to JR's CRMO team as they defeat Harry's Chieftains in the one game for the division title matchup. JR got a huge 37 point week from Tomlinson to lead the way. Harry had an almost as good 32 point week from Williams, but fell just a little short. This storyline will continue in round one of the playoffs, as these two teams meet up again next week. It should be another great game.

Steamrollers 64    Connection 52
Two teams who playoff spots had already been determined, just went through the motions and kept all players healthy. Al/Boyd take the sidepot for team points with the win, and get Griese back for the first round of the playoffs as they face off against..... you guessed it, the Connection again in round one. Chris/Scott got some good news as McAllister return to the field and had a solid week. A big game from Manning will be a must if the rematch against the Steamrollers.

Double Stuffed 83    Bombers 50
Fran/Billy put together another solid week as the Stuffed get primed for the playoffs. Priest was the man again with 22, as he ran away with the RB sidepot. The Lemurs is up next for Fran/Billy, and Priest will be the horse that just may carry the Stuffed a long way. Bill/John's season mercifully comes to a close, a long frustrating battle for those two, to say the least.

Lemurs 64    Maulers 55
Jeff/Ray get the win and top 8 and win the D Division. The Lemurs had a QB problem this week, and thanks to Price's big 21 game, it was not an issue. They do get a healthy and starting Maddox back next week, and they will need it against the Stuffed. Brian's season finishes on somewhat of high note, despite the loss. The Maulers had major injury problems early on and were really struggling. They made it back into the playoff race which was pretty amazing considering their struggles.

Dragons 67    Starfish 50
Steve/Marvin get the win, but lose out on the tiebreaker with the Lemurs and fail to make the playoffs. A decent year for the Dragons, despite some inconsistencies that ultimately cost them a playoff spot. The Starfish finish the season out of the playoffs, and Brian/Brian can thank a few tough breaks but mostly a lack of scoring for that.

Week #13 Awards:
Top QB:    Bledsoe, Death    28 Points

Top Def:    Philadelphia, Double Stuffed    28 Points

Week #14 Preview
Last week's record: 5-3   Year to Date: 40-32
Faukers @ Razor Clams
Faukers MUST have a solid game from Faulk, and may need a monster game if the Clams score big like they tend to do. Clams need to keep the pressure on and let Vick work his magic. The Clams RB's are both capable of big games, and if Vick is himself and both RB's go off, it will be lights out for the Faukers.    Pick: Razor Clams
 Chieftains @ CRMO
Rematch of last week's division deciding game. It is pretty simple, the team whose RB does the best, will most likely win. Tomlinson vs Williams is a great matchup, will Favre vs Brady could also be a huge factor. CRMO has their ace in the hole Tampa Bay defense, which just may the game breaker the need.   Pick: CRMO
Connection @ Steamrollers
Rematch Part II.... these two teams faced off last week, with nothing on the line. Different story this week, as the loser is out. Both teams are getting players back from injury, as the Connection welcomed back McAllister last week, and the Steamrollers get Griese back this week. What will be the key matchup? The Steamrollers have two big RB's, and both Dillon and Barber are capable of big days. If they both go off, the Connection will need a few WR's to really step it up a notch.    Pick: Steamrollers
Double Stuffed @ Lemurs
Well, the Lemurs are the top seed in this game, but hard to call them the favorite. The Stuffed will need Priest to keep playing at his top level, but they will need some production from the WR after last weeks 0 point effort. If Johnson plays well again, and the WR's or Mack get on the board, it will be a long day for the Lemurs if they don't play well. The Lemurs need Maddox to play well, and not split time with Kordell. Harrison has been to WR's of late, what Priest has been to RB's. He is that good. A big week from him, and a solid week again from Price, another stud WR, and the Lemurs will have the Stuffed on the ropes.   Pick: Lemurs

Good luck to everyone in week #14! I am outta here......
