Week #13
In a photo finish, it was the Dynamite and Death winning the two wildcard spots in the A/B Conference. The Chieftains were the hard luck team to finish with 23 points and not make the playoffs on tiebreakers. The Bullets win the A Division, despite their loss, while the Steamrollers have a huge week and win the B Division. The Lunatics' late season struggles continue, leaving them out of the playoffs after a loss to the Lemurs an no top 8 finish. Meanwhile, the Vikings win the C Division, and the Razor Clams cap their comeback season with the #1 wildcard spot in the C/D Conference. Club CC limp into the playoffs with a loss and poor showing in week #13, but they are in. The CRMO take the overall season team points title, after clinching their Division sometime around Halloween (it feels that way!).
The Steamrollers scored 110 the final week to narrowly edge out the Lunatics and CRMO for the season scoring title. The Chieftains get a little comfort after missing the playoffs as they win 5 sidepots, while the Dynamite & CRMO each won 3 sidepots.
Here is a look at the week 13 action:
Chieftains 64
Bullets 37
Harry gets the win and top 8 finish, but his
Chieftains lose a playoff spot thanks to two losses to the Dynamite head to
head. Brady had 14 to lead the Chieftains offense, while Akers chipped in 17.
Bill/John certainly didn't expect such a dismal effort from their Bullets, but
they hang on for the division title. A healthy McNair is necessary for the
Bullets to make a long playoff run.
Connection 98
Dynamite 69
Chris/Scott's Connection show again that
when the team is playing well, they can put up big numbers. The Connection get
an amazing 51 points from their WR's as they post the 2nd high score in the
league. Larry's Dynamite have a solid week, but fall short of the big week by
the Connection. The good news for Larry is they did get a top 8 and get a
wildcard spot.
Lemurs 88
Lunatics 51
Ray/Jeff put an end to the Lunatics season
as their Lemurs have a solid week scoring 88. Faulk leads the team with 28, with
help from Ward with 20. Corey's Lunatics finish out the year on a sour note,
after such promise heading down the stretch. A -4 from Garcia was the back
breaker for the Lunatics.
Steamrollers 110
Death 75
Al/Boyd get a big week as their Steamrollers
win the B Division. Portis leads the team with 22, while Bulger puts up 18 as
well did Mason. The Steamrollers head into the playoffs on a serious high note,
to say the least. Jeff/Steve's Death have another big week against them, but a
top 8 finish helps the team secure a wildcard spot. A very mediocre week from
the Death offense, but a big 18 point day from their defense gave them enough
for the top 8 finish. Could these two meet again, we'll know in a few days.
Vikings 64
Double Stuffed 22
Alford's Vikings get the win and the C
Division title with their win over the Double Stuffed. A solid day from
Tomlinson with 15 leads the team as Brian is among a group of 3 owners to make
the playoffs in both NFL leagues. Fran/Billy crack open the Champagne, the
season is finally over!
Razor Clams 58
Club CC 43
Ron's Razor Clams make it all the way back
and will defend their league title on the field in the playoffs. The Clams got a
big day from Hasselbeck with 20, with help from Davis with 18. Can the Razor
Clams make it two in a row? Time will tell for Ron. Troy/Trent have a down week
but still get a playoff spot. A bad week from Green with just 4 highlights their
tough week. No time to dwell on the bad game, next up is the #1 seed CRMO.
Kingpins 64
Dragons 62
Two teams out of the playoffs put on an
entertaining show as Boyd Sr's Kingpins get the narrow win. Kitna has been quite
the find this year for the team as he had another solid week with 17. Steve/Marv
get a solid day from Culpepper and Toomer as their season comes to a close.
CRMO 79
Starfish 57
JR is on cruise control as his CRMO get the
win and most importantly stay healthy. Holmes leads the team with 23 as he
finishes as the high scoring player for the year. Brian's Starfish finishes up a
tough year with a loss to the top ranked CRMO. Lewis was solid with 10 to pace
the team.
