Week #7

After a one week hiatus, the Commish's Corner is back. It has been a long 7 weeks for me at work, but my work load is finally easing up and will allow me to get back to the weekly report. Week 7 saw the Death finally lose a game, while the Dragons posted the top score with 92. This season has been marred with lots of injuries but also many disappointing players. McNabb, Price and Faulk are some of the higher draft picks that have provided little production for their teams. No coincidence that teams with these players have struggled. The NFL season is always filled with ups and downs, so as we head into the second half of the season, finding those hot players and getting them in the lineup will be all so crucial. Look no further than this weeks top scoring team the Dragons, as they finally get Culpepper back from injury, and a rejuvenated Owens and they are tough to beat. No one is really out of it quite yet, although some teams are facing must win games in the next few weeks.

Here is a look at the week 7 action:

Chieftains 68    Bullets 56
Harry gets multiple good games as his Chieftains turn back the Bullets. Brown and Brady hooked up for a big day as a long TD pass in OT propels them to 19 point days each. Bill/John get a solid game from McNair, but the WR's had a tough day leading to the loss. Taylor was on a bye and Hilliard filled in with a 0 to seal the Bullets fate.

Connection 90    Dynamite 57
Chris/Scott finally get a big day from Brooks as they easily defeat the Dynamite. The Connection also got 22 from Henry and 16 from Heap to give the team the 2nd high score in the league. Larry had a tough task with Indy on a bye, and the choice of Couch as the bye week QB was not a good one. Couch had -2 and Betts got hurt and finished with 0. The Dynamite WR's had a solid day with 43 points, but it was not enough.

Lunatics 87    Lemurs 43
Corey has a solid day as his Lunatics post a big 87 point day as they defeat the Lemurs. Moss had another solid day and got plenty of help from fellow WR's McCardell and Moss. Ray/Jeff's Lemurs get a very average game, highlighted by a 0 from injured Gordon. Ward will be back from bye and Faulk is almost ready to return, but is there enough time for them to turn it around?

Steamrollers 42    Death 31
Al/Boyd hand the Death their first loss, although it was not exactly a stunning performance by the Steamrollers. They did get solid days from Bulger and Portis, but sadly that was it and it was still enough to knock off the previously undefeated Death. The Snyder Boys taste defeat for the first time, and it was a strange day for the team. No one posted a 0, but only 2 players posted more than 3. Add it up, and it comes to just 31 measly points and the first loss of the year.

Vikings 47    Double Stuffed 18
In another low scoring affair, Alford's Vikings get the win over the struggling Stuffed. The Vikings got a big day from Tomlinson with 22, and that amazingly was all they needed. Fran/Billy continue to suffer through a dismal season by McNabb as the team reaches a new low. The Stuffed finally turned McNabb loose this week, so maybe better days are ahead.

Razor Clams 71    Club CC 50
Ron gets his defending champs back on track with a solid performance and a win over the Club CC. McAllister led the team with 19 and Davis chipped in 14 to give the Clams a much needed win. Troy/Trent get a solid day from Favre and Green, but outside the GB duo there wasn't much help. The Club CC WR's went 0-0-0 to give them the loss.

Dragons 92    Kingpins 81
Steve/Marv get a big day from many as they defeat the Kingpins in the highest scoring game of the week. The Dragons got 20+ from Culpepper, Owens and Glenn as they score just enough to get the win and a top finish. Boyd Sr has a solid day, but a -1 from Gannon was the back breaker for the Kingpins. Dallas Def continues to amaze with 27, but a 0 from enigmatic Boston leaves them a little short.

CRMO 86    Starfish 35
JR's team continues to lead the D Division as they deal the Starfish yet another loss. The CRMO got 16 from Holmes and 18 from Horn as they remain a leading contender in the league. Brian's Starfish go to 1-6 with yet another weak effort. Stallworth had 1 catch turn into a 11 point day to lead the struggling Starfish.
