Week #5
Last week we took the "What if?" approach to the action, this week in honor of the new Governor of California and the departure by Fat Head from Game Day, we will take a "Say what?" approach to the action on the field. "Say what?" is the reaction I had this week when I read thousands of people actually voted for Gary Coleman in the Governor's race, and also the same reaction I had when reading the San Diego boxscore to find out David Boston had 31 points this week. Say what???
Here is a look at the week 5 action:
Steamrollers 81
Chieftains 57
Al/Boyd get a nice week from Portis and bye
week QB Carter as they get the win rather easily. William Green continues to
provide the "Say what?" each week for the Steamrollers, not even cracking the
starting lineup this week. Harry suffers the loss as TB Def was not its usual
self. Harry is left with "Say what?" as his TE continues to provide no
production this year.
Death 72
Connection 48
The Snyder boys move to 5-0 as their Death
turn back the Connection. The Death get another big week from Harrison with 30
as they will eventually "Say what?" when Harrison has a "normal game". 65 points
in two weeks from Harrison will do that. Chris/Scott drop to 1-4 but still hold
the high scoring average in the league. That is a major "Say what????"
Lunatics 55
Dynamite 51
Corey gets the win thanks to another big
week from Moss with 21. Due to injury the Lunatics now have 2 RB's both from the
same team, who have yet to have their bye week..... "Say what?". Corey is
definitely rolling the dice on that one. Larry gets another big day from Manning
but it wasn't enough. James was DNP and Betts could only manage 2 leading to the
narrow loss. Larry is left with "Say what?" as a supposedly probable James
didn't even dress.
Bullets 88
Lemurs 58
Bill/John tie for the top spot in the league
behind big weeks from Taylor and McNair with 20+ each. The Bullets get Smith
back from suspension, adding to an already deep team. They are wondering "Say
what?" with Smith's addition as they try and decide which WR to bench now that
they are 4 deep. Ray/Jeff get a -3 from QB Maddox and couldn't recover. Williams
bounced back nice but the Lemurs are left with "Say what?" as they try and
figure out of Martin will ever return to form and give them 3 deep at RB.
Vikings 58
CRMO 52
Alford gets the win thanks to big days from
Shockey and Janikowski. The Vikings "Say what?" pretty regularly when Shockey
opens his mouth. JR gets the loss after a disappointing week from Priest. JR is
normally on top of things, but this week started Wilkins on a bye, "Say what?".
Razor Clams 30
Starfish 22
"Say what?"..... enough said.
Club CC 55
Dragons 53
Troy/Trent get the narrow win thanks to a
solid week from their GB duo. Club CC is a top the C Division and playing well,
but "Say what?" as they try and figure out Burress and his fall from the good
graces. Steve/Marv get a bad week from Seattle Def and another zero from Smith.
Having 50 year old Emmitt as your #1 RB makes you "Say what?" pretty frequently.
Kingpins 88
Double Stuffed 43
"Say what???" That sums up this game as the
previously low scoring Kingpins break out in big fashion thanks to a big day
from Boston and Dallas Def. Boyd Sr will take the win and hopefully parlay it
into a winning streak. Fran/Billy have a major case of "Say what?" as they try
and figure out what got into the Kingpins? McNabb continues to struggle and now
they have a banged up Moulds to deal with. It is not looking good these days for
the Double Stuffed.
