Playoffs Round Two
In a dramatic turn of events, it will be the #6 seed Fish hosting the #8 seed Wapati for the league championship this year. No division winners were able to advance on to the big game, and both the remaining teams are certainly the two hottest teams in the league right now. That is what the playoffs are all about, getting hot down the stretch. Both the Fish and Wapati had 80+ point weeks, so there is no backing into the championship for these two teams.
The Destroyers took the Scrub Bowl I prize this week with a 77 point week, while the Machine was the league high score this week with 99 as they took home the Scrub Bowl II prize.
Here is a review of the action in round two of the playoffs:
Wapati
88 Bandits 71
Boyd/Butch continue to work their magic, and
show they are truly a playoff performing team. A monster 40 point game from
Portis was just what they needed as they hold off the always tough Bandits.
Fellow RB Staley also had a nice week with 18, as they more than made up for a
pretty average week from the rest of the squad. Next up for the Wapati is the
Fish, and that looks to be another solid matchup as they both are playing real
well. The Wapati season surely has been a up and down year. Boyd/Butch finished
7-6 during the regular season, and with a few weeks to go, really looked out of
the playoff picture. Special thanks for their playoff birth has to go the
Manatees, who never addressed their WR problems, allowing the Wapati to slide
into the 8th seed. Now, the Wapati have taken full advantage of the playoff
birth and are yet again in the Championship Game. Truly an impressive late
season performance by Boyd/Butch. Al's season comes to a disappointing close as
his Bandits just didn't get enough this week. The Pitt Def was huge with 23, and
Mare had a solid 12, but the normally superhuman Holmes got banged up and could
only muster up 8 points, well below his season average. Vick was okay with 9,
but a 0 from Galloway combined with the huge game for Portis, and it was just to
much to overcome. Another solid season for Al in his long and illustrious
fantasy career.
Fish
84 Contributors 35
Wayne/Jim get their revenge as the knock off
the Contributors in a blow out. The Fish got 30 points from their Green combo
and 13 from stud McAllister and that was all she wrote for the Contributors. The
Fish had been a division leader for most of the year, but stumbled down the
finish and made the playoffs as the #6 seed. I am sure Wayne/Jim have put all
the late season frustration behind them as they are now in the big game, which
is all that really matters. The Wapati have been tough of late, so no time to
relax for the Fish. McSwain's season comes to a close as they have one of their
trademark bad weeks. The Contributors had struggled to score points all year,
but had certainly cranked it up in recent weeks, but this week it was back to
the old form and they fall way short in the game. Bulger had 11 to lead the
offense, but double gooseggs for the WR combo was just one of their problems
this week. A solid year for McSwain, as he took a team to the semifinals that
surely no one felt would even come close to advancing that far.
Scrub
Bowl I Winner: Destroyers 77 Points
Steve finally gets a break as his team puts
up the numbers and is the only team to crack the 70 point mark. It is a
bittersweet win for Steve, as he has had quite the disappointing season. There
was no coaching blunders that would have allowed another team to win.
Scrub
Bowl II Winner: Machine 99 Points
Not much of a battle here, as Frank's
Machine put up the big week. Frank surely is left scratching his head playing
the "what if" game after the disappointing loss last week that knocked him out
of the playoffs.

Week #16 Preview
Last week's record: 1-1
Year to Date: 44-42
Wapati @ Fish
Can the Wapati continue it's amazing run?
While it is highly unlikely that their RB's will score 58 again this week, they
do have the talent to keep up the pace. They key matchup may be the battle of
the defenses. The Wapati have SF going against Arizona, which could be a big
day. Garcia needs a big game as well, while either WR could also be the
difference if they have a break out game. The Fish have a lineup that top to
bottom is all capable of big weeks. If the RB's keep scoring 10+, and Green has
a solid day at QB, the Fish will be a tough team to beat. The battle of the Def
will be crucial, as the Fish have the Philly def at Dallas. That could be a big
game and the deciding factor.
