Feel the Pain week 8

Looks like the enforcement of the chuck rule is starting to really effect the scoring in the league. The cut off was a ridiculous 77 this week. The Machine and Doggy both had a 73 and still missed the cutoff by four points. Hell, we even had a team lose with 101 points. The Filircans just keep on truckin. The maulers lose but actually stretch their lead in the B. The bandits are now running away with the C. The Contributors take the lead in the D from the Pride.

The Pain. Gangreen was an emotional roller coaster this week. Coach Karnmazyn had to watch both starting running backs go down with injury, and both ended up with a zero. Needless to say, Green went off again, but that’s another story. On the good side, off week QB , Testeverde had what was I’m sure his season high , 25. Back on the down side , the Pain had only a 2 point lead going into Monday night , with his Kicker going. The gangrene had Pennington and the Miami def. Pennington got off early , with 2 TD’s and things didn’t look good for the Pain. Brien ended up with 14, which was great, but the Miami def is what turned this game. Miami had been solid all year but this night they ended up with a –4. Thus giving the Pain a much needed 82-77 win.

The Elephants owners were in Hawaii this week, but unfortunately it looks like the rest of the team went on vacation too. The Elephants could only muster a 34. 34 against the high scoring Filiricans is a recipe for defeat. Holmes’s 33 was almost enough to win all by himself. Johnny was heard saying “next”. That would be the now cocky Manatees.

Speaking of the Manatees, 106-101 over the Maulers was obviously the game of the year to date. To lose with 101 in just too hard to comprehend. Mike made the comment that it was going to be too bad that he had Martin going Monday night and the game would already have been won. Turns out he needed Martin to score 19 to tie. He did have a nice game and scored 14, but left them just a bit short. The main reason the Maulers lost this game was the fact that the usually reliable NE def had a –3. Ratt went from giving up this year to winning two in a row and actually has a chance to get back in the hunt with a win over the Filiricans this week.

In the battle of two 1-6 teams the Bums got the better of the Doggy 81-73. The Doggy got 22 from their new RB Green and 19 from stud TE Gates but it still wasn’t enough to overcomes Manning’s 31 and Keshon’s 21. What would have helped the Doggy was getting R. Smith in the trade with the Pain, instead of Glenn who is now hurt. Coach Karmazyn wanted to give them Smith, but the Doggy insisted on Glenn. If they would have taken Smith they would have won the last two weeks in a row.

The Brothers Synder squared off this week, in a thriller , with the elder getting his little brother 66-64. The Destroyers won this one for one reason only. Off week pickup QB Plummer blew up for an unexpected 27. Actually it was two reasons, McMichael still needed 15 to tie Monday night and he got 17 to seal the win. The Death drop to 1-7 but are still trying to be the spoiler as they placed Leftwich on the DL and picked up the man who did him in this week, Plummer.

In what many though would be a high scoring game between two division leaders turned out to be a low scoring stinker. The Bandits did just enough to get the 55-53 win. The loss dropped the pride out of the lead in the D. Not sure who released McGahee off the top of my head, but I’m sure they would like to have him back. Denver’s Def almost lost this one for them as they had a –2, as Vick went effortlessly up and down the field on them. The pride now look vulnerable as Moore is back to a platoon back and TE graham has come back down to earth.

The Fish just don’t have much to talk about this year. The team is void of talent and most teams have put it in cruise control against them. The Wapati are right in the thick of the playoff hunt as Gonzalez is now playing like the TE of old. This game was over by halftime and the Wapati eased to an 86-45 win.

In a must win game for the Machine they gave it everything they had. Roth. Had 14, Brown 18, Buff Def 18, but as usual the WR core did them in again. They just can’t seem to find a reliable scorer from this position. Burress has found new life with the rookie QB , it looks like this tandem are clicking and could make the Contrib one of the favorites for a fantasy title.

Coaching Blunder of the Week

Pride = driver - 0, Morton 12 on the bench. If he is in they easily win this week.
