Feel the Pain week # 2
Injuries were the name of the game this week. If you weren’t affected consider yourself lucky. There were some big names that went down. There are only 3 teams left undefeated and only 3, yet to win a game. Looks like another competitive year is in store.
2 weeks in and the Pain owners still have a smile on their face. RB Jones of Ord has been a pleasant surprise so far, and the Baltimore defense lived up to the hype this week. A 3rd win could be on the horizon as Holmes of the Filaricans is banged up and they are the Pain’s next opponent. The Death had a very sub par performance as only Horn and their kicker had a good day.
The Bandits have just hired a nutritionist for their team. Seems their diet lacked an adequate supply of calcium. In just two weeks they had two starters go down with broken fibulas. To compound those problems he released Foster last week, just days before he would become Carolina’s new star. Al did manage a win, which was of some consolation. The Filaricans take this one on the chin and possibly lose Holmes for this weeks game.
The Gangreen is another team that had a win/ lose week. They beat the beach Bums 77-42 , but lost McCallister for over 4 weeks. The Bums got only a 0 from the Tenn. Def and that was pretty much the ball game right there.
The Destroyers blew up and now have the league high game with a 93. They had 6 players in double figures. I think Steve owes Al a few beers for letting Foster fall into his lap. The Fish must have enemies in the schedule makers office as they had to face a 76 last week and 93 this week.
Ft Myers Florida must be one of the cities ravaged by the hurricane, because there seems to have been a mass evacuation. Included in the evacuation must have been all of Ratt’s players because no one has seen any in two weeks. Will Ratt make it 3 weeks in a row of having the low score in the league, is the burning question. Frank and Jim will take a win any way they can get it these days. They are now pinning their hopes on aging QB Gannon to lead their troops as Maddux almost had his elbow severed from the rest of his arm.
A resurgent RB in Martin of the Jets is leading the Maulers. Most fantasy owners had given this back up for dead and passed him over in the draft. Looks that may have been a big mistake. The Wapati had decent days from Moss and Dunn, but not much help anywhere else. Griffin came back to earth this week. If he doesn’t pick it up, it could be another long week.
In the game of the week, the Elephants beat the Contributors 73-70. That is only part of the story. In short, the Contributors got screwed in this one. The Contributors QB Culpepper was going into the endzone when he fumbled. He also had two open receivers he could have thrown to. On the Elephants side, Owens had the TD that wasn’t. If his TD would have been reviewed, it would have easily have been overturned. John and Eric are in the process of trying to have this loss overturned. Too bad the loss is in the books and not eligible for review.
The Doggy Style might need to find a new position. Missionary might be the answer. This team has talent but does not seem to be motivated. Jeff is trying to recruit fellow Chicagoan, Ditka to come in for this weeks pre-game pep talk. The pride might have found a lost gem in TE Graham, after two weeks he leads all TE’s in scoring. Garcia did not last long as the Pride’s QB as he quickly got the AX as Carr now takes over.
Coaching Blunder of the week Contributors benching Burleson who had a 5 for Terrell who had a –1. they lost by 3.
