Feel the Pain Semi’s

The semi’s are in the books, and the Championship will pit the Bandits against the Filiricans. The scrub bowl saw the Fish get some money back, and in the playoff team scrub bowl, the Contributors scored a few bucks.

The Pain will go another year without a championship, what a shock. With everyone in the league except partner McNamara rooting for the pain to fail again, coach Karmazyn took it upon himself to talk up the game, with a constant barrage of trash talk that John and Matt took and reciprocated with some themselves. This bantering made the week fun, since most owners are too scared to pop off(barring Ratt) he is pretty good at it. After Saturday’s game the Filiricans already had 55 points with only 4 players. At this point coach K conceded and prepared for John and Matt's comebacks. That’s when things got a bit interesting, the Pain made a valiant comeback. With Taylor on the bench with 16 points the Pain managed to make the Sunday night game meaningful. The Pain were down by 9 with Baltimore Def and the Filiricans still having Vandy. Baltimore tanked and the Filiricans moved on to an 88-74 win. John and Matt were gracious in victory and didn’t let coach Karmazyn have it as much as they could have.

The Gangreen’s amazing run is over. I think we all knew it was too good to last. After squeaking in the playoffs with a 6-7 record and then knocking off the number one seed and round one, they finally hit the wall. The wall was the Bandits, and coach Al Dotson. Dotson has been a constant force in the fantasy leagues and this year was no different. Al’s coaching blunder of having Jones on the bench proved to be of little consequence. The Gangreen must have just been happy to be there as they barely even showed up. They could only score a paltry 45 points, hardly the numbers expected from a second round playoff team. Al ‘s team seems to be peaking at the right time, Jones will be in the lineup this week with Mcgahee hurt, so there will be no coaching blunders this week.

John and Matt already started the smack for this much anticipated game. He has gone so far as to announce a press conference for anyone interested in attending. He is referring to it as media day, similar to the Super Bowl. I can just see John now, up on the podium with his dark Oakley sunglasses talking in the 3rd person and predicting a Filirican win “I guarantee it” was a what I heard him last say, we’ll see John.

In the Playoff team scrub bowl, the maulers and Contributors went at it with the Contributors edging them 88-78. Culpepper and new acquisition, L. Johnson paved the way with 29 and 23 respectfully. The maulers can sleep peacefully, now knowing that if they got past the pain last week they still would have lost this week to the Filiricans. The Contributors sleepless night swill continue however, as they would have won this week, had they not slipped up last week.

In the non-playoff scrub bowl, the Fish, fried the rest of the league to a tune of 98 points. “Were has that been all year”,Wayne was heard mumbling. Collins and Porter combined for 60 points, and Davis chipped in for 15. The Doggy made it a game however as they had a 92 point game themselves. Volek led the way for the Doggy, with a 32. Volek is obviously a better passer than Mcnair, and I’m sure if McNair retires next year, there will not be many tears shed, especially from fantasy owners.
