THE COLLEGE COMPETITOR              Edition 3.6

The Season is 2/3 over!!! Where did the time go? Some teams continue to languish in a long season, while others are still hitting their stride. It’s been an interesting season thus far as we enter the home stretch towards the postseason. Here is a recap of week six action.

Dragonfarts @ Browns ; 61- 44 Browns

A very important division contest in which the Dragonfarts needed a win. After starting 4-0, the Farts are now on a two game slide. White and Peterson produced, but the rest of the team totally collapsed with three getting eggs. The Browns catch a break in this match-up keeping their undefeated season alive despite only scoring 61 points.

Predators @ Contributors ; 59- 95 Contributors

The long season continues to wear on Coach Merv. His Predators just can’t find the chemistry to compete. Rice has been a complete disappointment on the year with only one significant game to his credit. Troy Smith and Brown anchor the team, but thus far the supporting cast is AWOL. Tough year!! The Contributors have turned their season around with another strong game. After starting 0-4, the contributors are on a two game winning streak with excellent games.

Elephants @ Cossacks: 80-77 Elephants

Coach Brady finally catches a break pulling out a hard fought victory. It’s been a long year as the Elephants opponents are averaging a whopping 100.2 points a game!!!! The Pachyderms are now 1-5, but their record does not indicate the strength of the team. The Cossacks suffer another hard defeat as their record falls to 1 – 5. This is another team that is stronger then their record. A difficult year to suffer through thus far, perhaps they can end the year on a three game winning streak.

Game Cocks @ Stallions ; 96- 95 Stallions

A one point victory for the Horses!!! The kind of game you have to do the scores a few times to make sure you won. In the end, an interception by the GCocks QB spelled the difference. Last week the Gamers were on the positive end with a three point victory, so in two weeks their contests were decided by a mere four points! Both of these teams had excellent games, and another team goes down to defeat despite scoring over 90…that has happened a few times this year.

Redhawks @ Shamrox ; 60 -48 Hawks

A tough loss for Coach Snyder as he was once again victim to the lack of credible information in the college game. Iowa Rb Young was a scratch, while his Back-up had a career day! This kind of defeat wears on you. The Hawks get the victory despite the sub par game. Along with the Browns, they win despite only scoring 60. Two teams in the top six lost this week while two got very favorable match-ups. Favorable wins and tough losses!!! Don’t you just love this game? J

Lightning @ Venom ;  85 -70 Venom

The Venom improve to 5 -1 and just about have a stranglehold on the C division race. They are perfect in top six finishes, and have been consistent all year. Hopefully, they can take the momentum far into the playoffs. The Lightning had a solid game, but were hurt by the scratch of their TCU RB. A zero is always hard to overcome.

Three games left! The playoff picture is coming into focus as some teams need to step up

I Love this game! J                                    Jeff Myers
