THE COLLEGE COMPETITOR              Edition 3.5

Week five saw an explosion of points by many teams. The season is now more then half over, so some teams will have to put together winning streaks or they will have to make travel plans to the scrub bowl. Here is a recap of week five action.

Venom @ Dragonfarts ; 89-65 Venom

The DFarts undefeated season came to an end when they could not make up for the loss of Peterson on a bye week. Coach Rusch made some effective free agent pick-ups in WR Swain and RB Scott, but could not match the Venom Scoring on this day. The Venom win to improve to 4-1 and remain perfect in top six finishes for the year. RB Walker finally broke through, and RB Davis continues to impress. The dark spot was the dismal play of QB Carpenter. Coach Koetter should be fired for the way he handled the QB situation at the beginning of the year…somewhere Sam Keller is smiling.

Shamrox @ Predators : 79 -49 Rox

The Rox put in a solid performance to defeat the Predators. Led by TT WR Johnson, they were too much for Coach Merv’s squad. The Rox look to put together a run to get back in the C division race. The Predators bright spot was the play of QB Smith, but many roster spots are underperforming. Coach Merv's record playoff run may be in jeopardy if things don’t turn around.

Cossacks @ Browns ;109 – 59 Browns

The Brown win again to remain perfect on the season.  They scored 109 despite two zeros in the line-up. QB Taylor and RB Lynch both scored 33 pts and could have beaten the Sacks on their own. The Cossacks are suffering losses despite what looks to be a very good team on paper. Fantasy football can be a mystery at times. Coach Maze will look to end the season with a run.

Stallions @ Contributors ; 102 -71 Contributors

The Contributors snap out of their funk to play a strong game against the Horses. TT QB Harrell scored 30 and the Clemson D 35 to anchor the winning effort. The Stallions lose another tough one after failing to get any production out of Lucky and the Nebraska Def. Lucky scored through the roof on the bench last week, but this week he was a non factor. Really hard to figure this game out sometimes!

Elephants @ Redhawks : 143 -110 Hawks

Ouch!!!! This is the type of game that leaves a mark! Coach Brady got the match-up from hell losing despite scoring the second highest of all 12 teams. Same thing happened to the Stallions last week! It’s a shame he had to lose. The Hawks soar to gain the top spot in scoring for the year! Things lined up perfectly getting 33 from Free-agent Pick-up Ainge, 44 from the UCLA DEF… 44!!!!! And 27 from Smith who benefited from Jarrett’s absence. Great game…sometimes it just all comes together.

Game Cocks @ Lightning ; 85 -82 GCocks

The Gamers win a close one in the most competitive game of the weekend. They fought through the zero posted by Lester to best the Lightning by three. The Lightning got a great game from WR Williams, but got let down by WR Hicks…tough loss!

Only four games left in the regular season!!! As we enter division play many teams can make a move to get in position for the post season. Good Luck to all! Hopefully their won’t be as many painful los

I Love this game! J
