Week #4

So far this year in all the football leagues I continue to hear (and say) "What if?". That has been the big question asked this year as teams struggle with injuries, big performances and disappointing starts to the season for top players. So this week in all the Commish's Corner reports we will be putting a "What if?" spin on all the action.

Here is a look at the week 4 action:

Plague 62    Machine 45
Bill/John get the win behind Tomlinson's 29 point game. The Plague have been asking "What if Eddie George actually plays like a top RB?" Frank/Jim suffer another defeat as they get three more zero point games. The Machine have been asking "What if we had every player actually score every week?"

Doggy Style 76    Cows 55
Jeff/Scott get big days from both RB's and 17 from their KC Def to get the win. The Style faithful have been asking "What if we had a productive WR?" Tom's Cows drop to 2-2 and just miss out on a top 8 finish. The Cows two bye week pickups combined for -1 to offset a good game from McAllister. Tom has been asking "What if I had a computer that worked and I could actually do some research?"

Maulers 69    Death 49
Merv/Mike get big games from WR's Johnson and Holt to get the division win. The Maulers have been asking "What if we picked a top player that didn't get hurt each year?" Portis remains banged up for the Maulers.  The Commish's Death get a big game from Green, but offset it with a -4 from QB Brooks. The Death have been asking "What if Brooks and Booker played like stars as they had hoped?"

Cossacks 48    Manatees 41
Maze/Mac get a win despite the low scoring effort. Favre helped out with 13 but injured RB's are the story for the Cossacks. The Cossacks are asking "What if Henry and Dillon stayed healthy for one whole game this year?" Ratt's Manatees drop a key division game as Holmes came back to earth and no one stepped up to help the team. The Manatees have been asking "What if Horn started playing good football every week?"

Beach Bums 84    Elephants 37
Alford gets a big week from his Beach Bums as they post a solid 84 thanks to Moss' big 36 point day. The Bums have been asking "What if Burress becomes part of the offense every week?" Tom/Joel suffer the loss as Ramsey puts up a 0 and Price remains ineffective. The Elephants are asking "What if Vick comes back and Atlanta realizes Price can be a weapon?"

Wapati 60    Contributors 33
Boyd/Butch post the win thanks to  15 point games from Jolley and Carolina Def. The Wapati are asking "What if Owens gets back to his flashy high scoring self?" John/Eric drop to 2-2 after a league low 33 point game. McNabb finally pushes himself to positive points for the year, but almost no offense at all leaves them $15 in the hole for the week. The Contributors are asking "What if McNabb finally starts being the stud like Rush thinks he undeservedly can be?"

Bandits 90    Fish 69
Al finally gets win #1 after a tough start thanks to big weeks from Plummer and Hambrick. The Bandits have saying "What if Marshal stays healthy and played like he use to?" Wayne/Rich drop to 1-3 despite having the 2nd highest scoring average in the league. Bulger and Lewis continue to produce, but yet again their opponent has a big week. The Fish have been asking "What if William Green was actually worth a first round pick?"

Destroyers 116    Filiricans 51
Steve/Joe set all kinds of season highs as their Indy combo goes nuts and scores 74 points combined. The Destroyers have been wondering "What if Manning and Harrison did this every week?" Game set match if that happens! Johnny/Matt get spanked by the big week of the Destroyers as they could do nothing but watch in horror as Manning keeps chucking TD passes. Garner had a solid week with 11 to lead the team. The Filiricans are asking "What if Culpepper stays healthy or better yet the took Frerotte as his replacement?"
