Week #2

Some players step up in week two, some players play like they had spinach for the pre-game meal. We saw some great individual efforts, and we saw poor imitations for offense from Oakland and the beloved (by some) Broncos. 2007 is shaping up to be a fun ride as the stud players for the most part just haven't got it done yet. A flurry of moves begin week 3 so owners are already showing the willingness to find the new stud this year. The new rules are score posting method seem to be working well, the Commish enjoys having results up late Monday night. On to the game reports.....

NFL 1

Shamrox 72    Gangreen 62
The Commish streaks out to the lead with a big day from Shamrox stud LT, and good games from Palmer and Kaeding. After watching his favorite NFL team in green blow a lead, the Commish could only hope this team in green had better success. Bill and John's team in green hung tough Sunday, needing a 12 point MNF game from Ward. The whole Steelers offense gets shut down and the Shamrox move to 2-0. A respectable 9 from stud Larry is a bit of a concern for the Gangreen as LJ seems to be human with the overmatched Huard leading the KC offense.

Pain 89    Da Bros 63
Maze gets the top week in the league with a solid 89 point from his Pain squad. That was secondary news for Coach Maze, as the big news was his son scoring his first pee-wee football TD!!! Baby Maze gets in the end zone for the first time, bringing a tear to Papa Maze's eye. Baby Maze runs to the sideline with the ball, promptly finds the TV cameras and what does he say? "Hi Mom!" Yup, he is going to be a star! Al's squad puts up a decent fight, but a swiss cheese NYG defense gets lit up for a -1 point day.

Filiricans 68    Pride 52
On this week's episode of "How the Filiricans Turn", coach Johnny is seem with that tramp nurse Paris boasting of how he righted the 'Ricans ship back to the W column. He smoothly explains to the not so innocent Paris that he is the real brains behind the team. Meanwhile, halfway across the world Matt gets news of the week one loss, and wonders if his European vacation was such a good idea? Matt returns to town and Paris greats him with the news of Johnny's power play. Matt is furious! Who is the brains behind the Filiricans? Stay tuned, as nurse Paris is not one to be trusted in this power struggle. Meanwhile, Larry and his Pride limp to 0-2. Four points from your QB/RB/RB is very Raider like and not going to get the job done.

Doggy Style 82    Destroyers 70
The 'Style get a balanced attack from the team and put up the second high score of 82. Who needs Steve Smith when his sub posts a 17? Steve/Joe give up the big lead early but a ferocious comeback by the Jag's def falls a bit short. Pennington was a great pickup for the Destroyers, now they need to find a similar replacement for RB Brown.

Mustangs 53    Contributors 52
A second close loss for the Contributors give Ted and his Mustangs their very first win. Peyton shows his first round worthiness with a 23 point day. WR remains a concern for the 'Stangs, as Engram just wasn't the answer. John/Eric need just a single point from kicker Reed Monday night for the win, no problem right? That is why they play the games!

Virus 71    Fish 57
A big day from Johnson leads the Virus to a 2-0 start. Kitna helps with a surprising 13 point day, Brian can only hope there are many more of those. Wayne/Rich get a big game again from McNabb, but zero from the TE and K to sink the Fish.

Machine 81    Maulers 65
Frank/Jim get another huge game from the Raves D to post another solid win. For those scoring at home, the Ravens D now has 63 points in two weeks, or 36.8% of the Ravens offense. Yup, that is a winning recipe! Merv/Mike leave the Caddy at home again as it is apparently in need of a major tune up. Great WR games from the Maulers trio just wasn't enough.

CRMO 55    Persuasion 54
In a battle of new teams JR/Corey get the one point win thanks to Harrison and his 9 point day. Yup, that Moss for Harrison trade on draft day came back to bite The Persuasion. The good news for the 'Suasion is that Oakland is off week 3, so maybe Moss can recruit a few NFL players to fill out the Raiders squad. JR laughs when he thinks of how they bought the "let's trade Moss and Harrison because of bye weeks" line. Kind of like the "Plummer will be starting in week 4" line they bought hook line and sinker.

NFL 2

Lemurs 79    Nuetrilizers 56
So much for writing of the Lemurs after week one? The Champs get a solid day from many and look like the two time defending champs they are. Boyd's squad gets a nice day from LT, but starting and obvious dnp Whosyourmamam backfires as his sub gets a -1. Got to check back over the weekend on that lineup!

Thunder 94    Vikings 48
Not much of a game here as the Myer's Thunder run rampant over the helpless Vikings. Eli and Rudi lead the way with 20+ each as the Thunder go to 2-0. For Brian's team, Warner was average, Jordan MIA again and Crumpler a non-factor. Maybe it is time to sign up that Burger King guy after all.

Maulers 53    Gangreen 52
In yet another 1 point game, Brian's Maulers slip away with the win. A late FG by Graham was the necessary point they needed. Bill/John suffer the double league loss as not much from the 'Green in this league, coupled with a broken finger for TO means time to break out the hyperbolic chamber for TO, maybe the whole darn team.

Club CC 53    Wide Right 42
Troy/Trent get the win as it was a balanced average day for the team, but balanced enough for a W. Nothing spectacular from the Club, maybe Reggie's pending NCAA investigation is weighing on the whole team? Still, a Houston exec still should have been fired this week for the draft day snub. Brain/Daniel fall to 0-2 as Jake and the Panthers just don't have it this year so far. Hopefully getting the top WR will provide a boost to the Panthers and their team.

Bombers 61    Doublestuffed 42
Al has to lock Johnny in the closet Sunday morning to be able to leave questionable Big Ben on the IR for the week. Smart man that Al is! Brees fills in admirably again with a 15 point day as the Bombers get the win. The 'Stuffed get solid RB numbers but little else. Gonzo becoming a blocking TE is not what Billy/Fran had in their plans. Fran has even volunteered to QB the helpless Chiefs after the bye week. She assures Gonzo 40-50 looks a game, she has one supporter on the club already!

Bulldogs 95    Razor Clams 80
In the featured game of the week, Jesse and his Bulldogs shoot it out with the Clams and come away with a big win. Peyton with 23 and the Ravens D with 31 keep the scoreboard operator at a frantic pace all day. Ray's team gets a big day from many, but Vick and his 100 yard rushing day go to waste as the dreaded "bad schedule" claims another victim.

Destroyers 83    Lunatics 77
The Commish and brother Steve surge out to a big lead, but have to hold on tight from a Lunatics rally for the win. McNabb/Coles/Chi D were big again as the Destroyers move to 2-0. JR/Corey almost make it back, but guess who at QB cost the team again. Yup, time to move on from good old Jake!

Connection 69    Dragons 44
A solid day for the Connection as QB & WR's were just about enough alone. The Dragons fall again as starting Steve Smith again was probably just not a good idea.

"The good, the bad and the ugly" for week two...

The Good:    The Ravens and Bears defense were top scorers again, but solid days by LT, Peyton and Rudi show that the offense is finding it's way back to the top of the leader board.

The Bad:    To many to name, but the leaders in week two were the Raiders, the Bucs, Jordan, Cadillac, the Raiders, Jake, Randy, the Raiders, Jake......... well, you get the picture.

The Ugly:    Spinach!!!!!! Stay very very very far away!

Good luck to everyone in week #3! I am outta here......
