THE COLLEGE COMPETITOR              Edition 2.3

Oh what a week for scoring! The low bottom six came in at 103! Several QB’S had explosive magic games lighting up end zones and scoreboards. Two teams remain perfect with three wins, and three teams are still searching for their elusive first W. Here is a recap of Week three division play, oh what a week it was!

Game Cocks @ Lightning ; 133- 37  Lightning

A storm was brewing Saturday as the Lightning struck hard, fast, and often. There was not a weak player in the line-up as all were scoring and showing great consistency. Deangelo Williams showed why he was chosen #1 in the draft by scoring a team high 32. The Lightning looked impressive scoring 133, and will look to create some electricity the rest of the year. The Game Cocks just could not get anything going and remain winless through three games. Drew and White were impressive, but several positions will need revamped for the Gamers to jumpstart this season. The Lightning are now tied for the lead in the A division with The Stallions while the Game Cocks have the bottom to themselves.

Stallions @ Contributors ; 82.5- 82  Contributors

Oh what a gut wrenching, heart breaking contest! It is the second year in a row a Team has lost by the half point home field advantage. The Stallions fought hard with great games by Mizzu QB Smith and free agent pick-up RB Young, but in the end they fell short by the smallest of margins. Riggs has not produced as yet and his input was sorely needed. While McNeal was scoring all the points for Tex A &M, RB Lewis got only two. The Contributors contributed just enough to squeak out the win to improve to 2-1. Solid games by Vick and the Ohio State D lead the way. The crowd at the Contributor home field got them the margin of Victory. The Stallions are now tied for first in the A division while The Contributors are 1 point back. Neither team received a bonus this week, which just adds to the pain of Coach Mike. The Contributors hope to get Hart back, while the Stallions hope Riggs will begin to gallop.

Keglers @ Predators ; 125- 113 Predators

Oh what a great game, it was a shame someone had to lose this one. The Keglers fought hard with a break out game by freshman RB Charles. The Longhorns have found their future, while the Hurricanes found a solid Back in Moss. Moss was aided by an overtime game in which he got extra points when the game was extended. Overtime games in College can kill you…In fact The Stallions lost because the Miami Tight end caught a ball in the extended period! The Keglers had a solid game by the Oregon QB, but were let down by the play of WR Clark. Some moves were made this week to shore up the receiving Corps. The Predators fought back with an incredible performance from Leinert and Jarrett. The two combined for 62 points to seal the win. Maroney continues to show his incredible strength as a runner. The Predators are now 3-0 and are averaging an incredible 132 points a game! They Lead the B Division and are perfect thus far. The Keglers fall to 0-3 but get a bonus point for consolation. Losing while scoring 113 is painful! The Keglers are revamping their roster while the Predators keep devouring all in their path.

Redhawks @ Elephants; 149- 38 Hawks

The Hawks soared high with an incredible explosion of points. QB McNeal was a one man wrecking crew scoring a lead leading 53 points! Reggie Bush posted a 29, and continues to show his lethal fantasy power. He has more of a role this year, and is truly a special player. Tex Tech receiver Hicks came back from suspension with a very good 19. The Hawks look to be a dangerous team this year and have their sites set on the post season. They improve to 2-1 to keep the heat on the Predators in the B Division. The Elephants must have eaten a bad batch of Peanuts as they were lethargic and struggled to score. The bright spot was Alabama RB Darby who came to play.  Tex QB Young did not get into the scoring explosion in Texas posting a very low score. Coach Brady will try to motivate his squad and get his first win next week. He is out looking for a new Peanut vendor! Tough week Coach Tom!

Venom @ Cossacks ; 103 –65 Venom

The Venom post their second win in a row to improve to 2-1 on the season. They are aided by the lethal Texas Tech QB Hodges and his new favorite target Johnson. The two combined for 58 pts. The Texas D Had a solid game scoring twice and putting the hurt on Rice. The Venom were fortunate to win while getting a meager two points from their Running Backs. Lundy did not play despite hints that he was ready to roll, and Pittman was limited in Tressel’s conservative offense.  The Venom will need Lundy if they are to contend as Tex Tech will not destroy opponents the rest of the year. The Cossacks fell victim to a lack of info as well when Lynch did not suit up. The Sacks still scored some points with the play of Louisville RB Bush, the Va Tech Def, and an incredible performance by the Georgia Kicker who booted a 58 Yarder! The Cossacks hope to get Lynch back next week, but he is still nursing a broken finger. The Venom are in second place in the C division and the Cossacks are at the bottom. Each are still within striking distance of the division leader.

Brown @ DragonFarts ; 127 –60 Dfarts

The DragonFarts continue to impress and improve to 3 –0. Like the Predators, they have received all three bonus points and lead their division. The Arizona QB continued his blistering pace, Henderson had another stellar game, and WR Williams is becoming a star in Oregon. The Dfarts were consistent top to bottom and should be strong the rest of the season. The Browns scored at each position, but did not have the break out performance needed to carry them to victory. Peterson had a quiet game by his standards. WR Calvin Johnson is a bright spot, and can score at any time. The Browns were a little weak at the QB position, but pulled off a great trade this week to acquire the Dfarts back-up QB. The Louisville QB had a great game while remaining on the Fart bench. I guess the Farts GM wanted to deal him while he was hot. They get a great receiver in USC WR Smith, but one might question any trade that makes a team in your division considerably stronger. The Browns clearly are better with the Louisville QB now in the fold. It might be a brilliant move by both, we shall see.

It was a great week of scoring with elation and heartbreak. Going into the week four match-ups, games will begin to get tougher. The meat of the Schedule is coming up for college squads, and very few sleeper players will awake for the taking. From here on out it’s about match-ups and who can avoid injury. It’s going to get interesting!

I love this Game!
