Playoffs
Round #2
The top two teams in the regular season returned to action this week, one
only needed a single player to win their game, while the other was in for a long
day. The Cows remain undefeated as they beat the Cossacks by 97 (YIKES!), but
the Elephants become the latest victim of the suddenly resurgent Death team. In
the Scrub Bowl, yet another non-playoff team had the top score of the week as
the Contributors posted a whopping 135 points for the week. As Chris Berman
says, "that is why they play the games!" Let's see how things turned
out.......
Death
132 Elephants 97
Two down for the Commish,
one to go! The Death amazingly score 132 points, which is normally a good two
weeks for this team, and turn back the top scoring team in the regular season
the Elephants. Strangely enough, the Elephants and Mr. Tom Brady averaged 97
points a week in the regular season, which is the total they posted in the post
season debut, and Tom had to figure that would be more than enough against the
Death. Unfortunately for Mr. Tom Brady, the Death follow up last weeks season
high with an even more impressive showing on the field. The Death were lead by
WR Stallworth's 33 points, along with Simonton's 29 point game. Say what you
want about the Commish and his Death team, but those two players were his top RB
& WR picked in the draft, it just took those two players a whole freaking
season to finally get on track. Lucky for the Commish, he somehow found a way to
still be alive in the championship hunt while his top picks struggled throughout
the year. Up next for the Death is a championship showdown with the Cows. I have
said it before, I'll say it again...... anything can happen! The Elephants
performed as they usually do for Mr. Tom Brady, but it just wasn't enough this
week and a fine season for the Elephants comes to a disappointing close. The
terrible two-some was again their reliable self, as Florida QB had 35 and
Gaffney had 24. Askew again had a solid week with 17, but WR's Howry and Arnold
only posted 2 points a piece and that hurt the team. Mr. Tom Brady can be proud
of his team's efforts this year, the Elephants were a powerhouse from the
beginning but just caught a tough break this week.
Cows
127 Cossacks 30
Maze and his Cossacks
picked the wrong week to post their low score of the year. Mr. Driver's Cows
showed why they are still the lone undefeated team in the league, although they
weren't really given much of a challenge. The Cows got a 36 point game from
scholar cooking student Staley, which was more than the Cossacks could muster up
as a team. Oh yea, Pitt QB & RB Henry had 34 points apiece, also outscoring
the Cossacks all by themselves. TRIPLE OUCH!!!!!!!! Yes, it was that bad for
Maze! Next up for Mr. Driver is the Championship Game against the Death. Are the
Death for real? Is Luke going to class this week? Are the Cows due for a bad
week, you know that "Death luck"? Hmmm, how confident is Mr. Driver
these days? Personally, Cinderella may have worn out his "Death Luck"
already, but the Cows still have to win it on the field. The season comes to a
close for the Cossacks and Maze. A solid year for the team, but Maze always
seems to find a way to come up a little short in recent years. Maze can take
relief in knowing that much to the dismay of his fan club, he once again put
together a solid team and like Al, always seems to be around come playoff time,
win or lose. That is why you have such a strong fan club out there Maze..... it
is called "playoff envy"! :)

How about that
Scrub Bowl winner prediction last week! Yes, the Contributors posted their top
performance of the year and walk away with this week's prize. The Texas twosome
of Benson and Texas QB had 35 and 30 respectively to lead the way. Carey
continues to get solid performances, just a little to late. The Stingrays follow
up last week with a dismal performance. With several key teams off next week,
the Scrub Bowl is up for grabs next week. Who will score 100+ to win next
week????
Weekly
Awards
QB of the
Week: Florida, Elephants 35 Points
The Elephants QB was it
usually self, but not enough for Mr. Tom Brady to move on.
RB
of the Week: Staley, Cows 36 Points
Luke continues to be the main
man for Mr. Driver and Cows. Can he do it again in the championship game? Hard
to bet against him!
WR
of the Week: Stallworth, Death 33 Points
The Commish's first WR picked finally puts up the numbers he was hoping for all
year, and it was a key factor in the Death's win over the tough Elephants team.
