Week #6
Let's see if I have this right.....another week, another Death loss, the Contributors start the wrong Wisconsin RB again, Rashaun Woods follows up his 68 point game with a ZERO, a tie on the neutral games week, the Cubs and Red Sox in the playoffs, and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger is Governor of California. Yup, all is right in the world!
Here is a look at the week 5 action:
Maulers 59
Aldoggies 58
Two teams battling for A Division bragging
rights put on a show, although a low scoring affair. Mike's Maulers get the one
point win on a 11th inning RBI single by RB Void. Every other sporting event
seems to end that way these days! Al/Russ suffer the tough loss, magnified by
the fact that GOD (aka Woods) follows up his record breaking performance with a
big fat zero. That will drive you nuts for sure!
Stingrays 63
Death 51
Merv gets the win to stay atop the A
Division thanks to nice games from USC K and VT Def. It was all about special
teams this week for the Stingrays as the usually reliable Williams trio had an
off week. The Commish's Death are not good. Only a call from Governor Arnold
could save this team from its inevitable fate.
Elephants 75
Cows 72
In another close game, Mr. Brady gets the
better of Mr. Driver in the battle of the Toms. The Elephants get a big game
from RB Jackson with 32, while the Cows get a couple of zeros from Purify &
Perez to offset a nice week from Rivers and Nebraska Def. It should be an
interesting rematch come playoff time for these two teams.
Cossacks 83
Pride 52
We have a Marcus Houston sighting! Maze/Jim
pick up Marcus and he immediately pays dividends leading the team with 20 points
and helping the Cossacks keep the playoff hopes alive. The Pride get a nice week
from their Michigan connection but a zero from Bell and a disappointing week
from their Def leaves them on the losing side.
Titans 75
Contributors 46
Two teams passing each other in the
standings as their seasons take major turns. Jeff's Titans struggled early but
now the defending champs are back on top of the C Division and primed for
another playoff run. A balanced attack for the Titans featured 5 of their 7
players going for double digits. John/Brett continue to spiral down as the
losing streak is now at 3 for the Contributors. It was another baffling week for
these two as they choose the wrong Wisconsin RB yet again and get no support
from the rest of the team. Maybe it is time to not start a Wisconsin RB, it
would sure save a lot of headaches!
Redhawks 84
Dragonfarts 84
Sure enough in the one week of neutral site
games, we have a tie. Add to it, these two teams also tied for high score in the
league. Amazing! The Redhawks post 84 points, AND had THREE ZEROS!!! Schaub,
Lundy and OU Def all went for 20+ to somehow pull off the tie. Dave's
Dragonfarts get a balanced attack with VT QB and OSU Def posting 20+ and finally
get on the board with 2 team points, leaving the Death as the lone remaining
team with 0.
Good luck to everyone in week #6! I am outta here......
