Week #10

Round One of the playoffs saw both the higher seeds advance. The Titans won a close one over the always tough Aldoggies, while the Cows had a dazzling performance in their dismantling of the Cossacks. Next up for the winners is the two top teams in the league this year. The Pride and Stingrays battled it out for regular season supremacy, while they meet up in the finals? The up and down Dragonfarts had another 100+ week as the win the first round of the Scrub Bowl. The Redhawks were the only team within striking distance of the Dragonfarts, will another team step it up in the Scrub Bowl?

Here is a look at the week 10 action:

Titans 100    Aldoggies 87
An old fashion shootout! Jeff's Titans got a nice day from OU QB, a 50+ carry day from Perry and then Auburn Def posted a nice 27. Al/Russ's Aldoggies still were in contention thanks to nice games from CSU QB and 14 each from Lewis and Clayton. The big difference in the game came down to the OU/OSU match up. While the Aldoggies did get 18 from their OU players, the Sooners defense shut down the high powered OSU offense. Super stud WR Woods could only manage 2 points for the Aldoggies, and that was probably the deciding factor. A nice season with yet another playoff appearance for Al/Russ, certainly highlighted by the record setting game by Woods to secure the player game side pot. Next up for Jeff's Titans is dear old Dad and his vaunted Stingrays. The Titans will have their work cut out for them as the schedule certainly looks to favor the high scoring Stingrays.

Cows 124    Cossacks 66
Driver's Cows put it to the Cossacks as they easily advance to the next round. A big day all around for the Cows, highlighted by a 36 point game from QB Rivers. Benson returns from suspension and puts up 29, while the rest of the offensive starters for the Cows all went into double digits. It was a nice win for Tom, but he has his work cut out for him with the Pride up next. The matchups are heavily favored against the Cows, the big question just may be will the Cows field a legal lineup? Maze/Sturken get a humbling loss that surely couldn't have been imagined in their wildest dreams. The confidence had to running high as they faced off against the Cows, who had been on autopilot for some time. Unfortunately for the Cossacks, the stars all lined up and somehow they got handed a 58 point loss. Roberson shined for the team with 24, but against the monster Cow game it wasn't nearly enough. A playoff appearance is always good, but somehow I don't think Maze and Sturken are to happy to go out in this manner.

Scrub Bowl Winner    Dragonfarts 113
Dave's roller coaster of a year continues as his Dragonfarts post another big day as they win the first round of the Scrub Bowl. The two Dragonfarts WR's went for 32 and 30, while steady Cadillac Williams put up 21. The 113 point day is quite impressive when you factor in a dnp for Carey and -3 from CSU defense. The Redhawks finished second with 98 as they get a big day from Lundy and UV QB. The Redhawks had a chance but starting Houston of Tennessee was costly, as he was listed as out all week. The Contributors were a distance 3rd to lead the rest of the pack. Hey, the Death didn't finish last and scored 61! I am so proud of my team! :>)

Good luck to everyone in week #11! I am outta here......
